The regression analysis was performed to assess whether usefulness (moderator)
interact with information acquisition (Independent variable) to predict the decesions
quality (dependent variable) of the respondents. Preliminary data screening indicates
that there is an issue of normality in unstandardized data as SW test are significant (i.e.
SW = ….., df= 376 P >0.05) but due to large sample size, these results are not too
important. Although there is no issue of linearity and outliers in the data. The usefulness
(moderator) and information acquisition (Independent variable) are mean centered prior
forming the interactive term. The regression included usefulness, information acquisition
and decesions quality with interaction term as predictors of the analysis.
The overall regression was statistically significant, R = .877, R2 = .77, F(3, 376) =
419.688, p < .001. Unstandardized regression coefficients are reported, unless
otherwise specified. There was a significant interaction (Information Acquisition ×
Usefulness), b = –.0543, t(376) = –2.681, p < .001. There were also significant effects
for usefulness, b = .1512, t(376) = 4.844, p < .001, and for information acquisition b = .
8736, t(376) = 23.18, p < .001. Because the interaction term was statistically
significant, the interaction was retained in the model.
