frown the case history itself (p [3% below), her treatment came

the same autumn he had been engaged on his Pockrpatilgy of

about publishing the ease history. On June 9, however (in
nother unpublished letter), he reports that °"Dreame and

stoned public fn the autumn’. We have no information as
to how it happened that Freud once more changed his mind
and deferred publication for another four year. See p. 522,
EDITOR'S NOTE, 5
‘There is no means of deciding the extent to which Freud
revited the paper before it uldmate publication in 1905. All
the intemal evidence suggests, however, that he changed it
very lie, The last section of the "Posucrpt (pp. 120 to 122)

from thete small addons it it fair to regard the paper as
representing Freud’ technical methods and theoretical views at
the period immediately after the publication of The ftepetaton

the appearance ofthe Tie Essys (19084), which were actually
published almost simoltaneouly with this paper, It the

assigns his treatment of ‘Dora’ to the wrong year to 1800

“Mfistory- of the Prycho-Analytie Movement” (1914) and is
repeated twice in the foomote which he added to the ease
history in 1923 (p. 13.2). There ean be no question thatthe
szutunin of 1900 was the corect date, since, quite apart from
the extemal evidence quoted above, the date is absolutely
fixed by the “1902" given at the end of the paper itself
