TS 500-2000 (R2018) Example 001 PDF

This document summarizes the shear and flexural reinforcement design of a simply supported rectangular concrete beam according to the Turkish TS 500-2000(R2018) concrete design code. The beam geometry, material properties, and loading are defined. ETABS is used to calculate the flexural and shear reinforcement, which is then compared to independent hand calculations. The results show an exact match between ETABS and the independent calculations.

TS 500-2000(R2018) Example 001

Shear and Flexural Reinforcement Design of a Singly Reinforced Rectangle

EXAMPLE DESCRIPTION
The flexural and shear strength of a rectangular concrete beam is tested in this
example.

A simply supported beam is subjected to a uniform factored load of 36.67 kN/m.

This example is tested using the Turkish TS 500-2000(R2018) concrete design
code. The flexural and shear reinforcing computed is compared with independent
results.
