Preparation
The import of the data (library content, templates and projects) needs to be done on
one client only.
primtech 13/15
Please make sure that this client uses the server database of the entis library (desktop
link “Switch to Server Library”) before you start the import process.

primtech 16
Please make sure that this client is connected to the primtech server to start the import
process.

Both versions
The data import then automatically updates the data to the server, which then makes it
available to all clients connected to the server.

Unpack the packages (library content, templates and projects) that you downloaded
from primtech INSIDE, each in a separate folder and keep their internal structure (each
of them contains the sub directories primtech and entis).

Data Import - primtech 15/16
Library import
Unpack the packages that you downloaded from primtech INSIDE, each in a separate
folder and keep their internal structure (sub directories primtech/entis).
First, select “Checked Out” and go to “FileImport entis components…” to import
“LibraryContent*” projects. Select the top folder of the structure which you want to
import.
Start one import for each library content project. The import of at least the
LibraryContent_entis_primtech (the bigger one) may take a while, depending on your
system´s performance.

If you suspect your system is hanging, check Windows task manager and observe the
acad.exe process. While this process is using CPU and/or memory usage changes, the
installation process is still working.
You will not find project data in your “Checked Out” after import of LibraryContent.

Template and projects import


Then, select “Checked Out” and use “FileImport…” to import sample and template
projects.
After the import process, you will find a new project in your “Checked Out” folder (may
take several minutes depending on the system performance). The projects shown in
this document are only dummies to demonstrate the process. You may see different

Matchcode
Rebuild the matchcode of the projects starting with “Import..” by changing “Project
no.” (add a space, press enter to commit and remove the space again).

Templates
Convert all projects into templates by using context menu in the tree, Status  Convert
into Template.

Check-In
After that, you can check in all projects in one step by selecting Checked Out and then
using “Tools/Check-in all”. This feature is available only to primtech administrators.
Standard users need to check in the projects one-by-one.

At the end, you will find the templates in the “Public Folders – All project Templates”
folder. You can delete (or “Delete (Admin)”) older versions of the standard templates
which you might also find in your “Templates” folder.

Data Import - primtech 13
Library Import
The library is maintained for primtech 13, primtech 15 and primtech 16. The same
package can be used for both versions.
Unpack the packages that you downloaded from primtech INSIDE, each in a separate
folder and keep their internal structure (sub directories primtech/entis).
First, select “Checked Out” and use “TOOLSImport …” to import “LibraryContent*”
projects. Select the top folder of the structure which you want to import.
Start one import for each library content project. The import of at least the
LibraryContent_entis_primtech (the bigger one) may take a while, depending on your
system´s performance.
If you suspect your system is hanging, check Windows task manager and observe the
acad.exe process. While this process is using CPU and/or memory usage changes, still
working.
You will not find project data in your “Checked Out” after import of LibraryContent.
