FINAL EVALUATION
TASK 1: ESSAY WRITING

Watch the video information related to language acquisition, five

hypotheses and comprehensible input based on Stephen Krashen’s
work:

a. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr64l4FjvBQ
b. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jobpF4c-1NI

c. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg1ZC5rbc5Y
For this task, you are going to prepare a reflection. Keep in mind that
an effective essay should be 400 – 500 words. It has to include an
introduction, a body and a conclusion.

Please make sure to read the evaluation rubric to learn how you will
be evaluated in this task. You are going to develop a paper in which
you select and discuss one of the following topics:

a. The main concepts related to language acquisition and learning.

b. The definition of “language acquisition device” and its relation

with first language learning.

c. The impact of Krashen’s hypotheses in the process of language

teaching and learning.

d. The difference between approach and method for language

teaching.

e. The relevance of including activities that promote learning styles

to the process of language learning.

Your reflection has to provide clear examples and detailed information

about the thesis you are presenting as your argument. You have to
write four paragraphs divided in an introduction, two body paragraphs
and a conclusion.

Write your reflection and post it in the discussion topic (Final course
project) that your teacher has prepared for you in the forum available
in the collaborative environment. The document should be sent as a
word file so that your tutor and partners can make any corrections or
suggestions to your work. This task should be done no later than
December 5th, so that you can receive feedback from your partners
and tutor.

TASK 2: ORAL DISCUSSION

Choose one of your classmates’ essays and make an audio review of

his/her contributions. The review should include your opinion about
his/her work expressing your agreement or disagreement with his/her
point of view in a polite manner.

Make any necessary adjustments or corrections to your contributions

according to the comments and feedback received about your work.

Please record your audios using the following online voice recorder to
avoid problems in size, quality and length of your audio files. Save
your file, then upload it to your Google Drive and share the link of
your audio recording in the activity forum.

https://online-voice-recorder.com/
Post the link of your audio file in the forum. This link must be included

that no topics are repeated among students.

Read your partners’ participations and comment their

contributions. You should consider possible
corrections regarding structure, vocabulary and
content. Keep in mind your suggestions or
corrections must be well based and show respect for
your partners’ ideas and intellectual work.

Once you have received appropriate feedback,

rewrite your reflection and share the revised version
of your work in the forum. The student in charge of
alerts must inform participants about any changes
that need to be made in the tasks.

Create a blog with your individual information,

reflection, comments and links of the recordings.
Each student must prepare and send to the forum a
