Hindalco Industries Limited is the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and one of India's largest business houses. It is a non-ferrous metals company with aluminum and copper strategic business units. Hindalco commenced aluminum production in 1962 in Renukoot, Uttar Pradesh and has since grown to a primary aluminum smelting capacity of 342,000 MTPA, accounting for 40% of India's production. HINDALCOIndustries Limited is the flagship company of the Aditya


Birla Group. AmongIndia's largest business houses, the Aditya Birla
Group has been operating in India for over 5decades with global
experience spanning nearly 30 years.Hindalco Industries Limited is a non-
ferrous metals powerhouse, in the country. Its operationsare organized into
two Strategic Business Units Aluminium and CopperIncorporated in
1958,Hindalco commenced production of Aluminium in 1962 at
RenukootUttar Pradesh. With an initial capacity of 20,000 MTPA of aluminium metal, it has
growncontinuously and at present has a primary aluminium smelting capacity of 342,000
MTPA.
Accounting for 40% of India's primary aluminium production, Hindalco enjoys a
leadershipposition in India for aluminium and downstream products. Furthermore, synergies of
operationswith its wholly owned subsidiary Indal have enhanced the Company's share in value-
addedsegments, where the Hindlaco-Indal combination accounts for over 50% of the market
share.Hindalco'sintegrated operations include a power generation capacity of 779 MW and
a660,000 MTPA Alumina Refinery. Hindalco's semi-fabrication facilities comprise
RolledProducts, Redraw Rods, Extrusions, Foils& Wheels. Wheels & Foils manufacturing
unit islocated at Silvassa.The company's product range includes Primary Aluminium Ingots,
Billets, Rolling Slabs, RedrawRods, Alloy Wire Rods, Sheet Products, Extruded Profiles, Foils
and Alloy Wheels. The revenue (Turnover) of HINDALCO in 2016 is 816.04 crores (US$ 14
billions).
