Students are rated on a scale from advanced to minimal competency in each area. An advanced rating requires playing all pitches and rhythms correctly with proper posture, accurate tempo, correct finger numbers, and confidence. A minimal rating means many errors in pitch, rhythm, posture and lack of understanding or preparation in other areas.
