Rationale / Justification Description
The first goal that I want to achieve during my TP is commitment to To maintain punctuality Goal one
the profession by maintaining punctuality. This goal is mostly about Professionalism Teaching Practice

Being professional and on time is essential for the Reflection
academic success, but it is a difficult task to accomplish
as well. Based on my previous teaching practices, I
faced many problems with time management. I was late
for school most of the time and sometimes I was unable
to achieve my lessons objectives because I was not
organizing my time. Therefore, in this semester, I
decided to find an effective way that helps me to
manage my time during my teaching practice period.
The first thing I did was creating a timetable for all of
the duties that I needed to carry on during the period my
teaching practice. A timetable is a schedule type used
for planning and shows at what times certain activities
will occur. (Khan, 2019).

I believe that timetable is extremely important for

various reasons. It gave me the opportunity to create
good lesson plans and provided an extra time for me to
modify them for the better. Additionally, the timetable
allowed me to know exactly what I had to do every day
without any confusion. Moreover, a well-constructed
timetable can be comforting both teachers and students
by establishing a natural rhythm and routine (Khan,
2019). The second thing I did was using the timer
during my lessons. It helped me to organize my time
during the lesson by finishing each activity in a
particular time, hence achieving my lesson objectives.

Furthermore, I noticed that students accomplished the

tasks better, when the timer was used. I believe this was
because students felt that they were challenged by the
time, so they became more focused to finish their tasks
on time effectively. Setting a specific time on tasks
helps students prioritize them with full attention and
complete them efficiently (Blog, 2015). However, in my
future teaching practice, I will follow the same way of
managing my time. I will make sure to create an
appropriate timetable and use a timer during my lessons.

Reflection
Planning for learning refers to the consideration of the
desired learning objectives as a starting point for any
lesson planning. Based on my previous teaching
practices, I faced some difficulties to implement
assessments that are linked to my lesson objectives. I
believe that was because of my planning for learning
method, I was firstly thinking about the activities rather
than looking at my objectives. Hence, in this teaching
practice, the first thing I considered while preparing my
lessons was the lessons objectives. I made sure to
planning for each lesson using the lesson plan template
provided by my MCT. This template helped me to think
about the objectives of each lesson and then, preparing
the appropriate activities for each stage gradually.

Doing this, helped me to prepare the suitable formative

and summative assessments the met my lessons
objectives. Additionally, during the period of my
teaching practice, I followed another way that I believe
it was an effective one, which was mentioning and
writing each lesson objectives on the board. It reminded
and allowed me to ensure accomplishing my objectives
during the lessons. Also, it gave the students an ideas
about what they are going to learn in each lesson.
Learning objectives tell students what is important and
what they need to focus on. Moreover, the actionable
and measurable learning objectives provide a guide for
students while preparing and reviewing the lessons
(Zhou, 2017). However, in my future teaching practice,
I will ensure applying relevant assessments to my
lessons objectives through planning for each lesson, just
like what I did during this semester.

Goal Three To manage students' behavior. The third goal that I want to achieve in my teaching practice is to

Reflection Managing students is not an easy mission to do during
the classroom. It requires lots of efforts and patience. In
my last teaching practice when I observed my peer, I
noticed the significant and positive influence of the
positive reinforcement on students' behavior. My peer
was able to fully engage her students during her whole
lesson through several positive reinforcement strategies.
Thus, I decided to follow her reinforcement strategies.
In addition, in this semester, it did not find many
difficulties to manage the students because my MST
had a perfect classroom management and the students
were very polite. I believe this was because of the
strategies that she followed to manage them such as
using the motivation chart and rewarding students' good
behavior by playing some learning games with them.

However, the first strategy that I followed when I

started teaching the students was using the black board.
I gave the students some rules in which if they did not
follow them, they will receive red points. Additionally, I
informed them that the group who received the less
amount of the red points will be rewarded by the end of
each week. This strategy allowed me to control and
manage the students during the whole period of my
teaching practice. Moreover, I implemented another
strategy, which was encouraging students' good
behavior and progression through the verbal praises and
giving them small gifts.

I noticed that students were actively and politely

participating during the lessons to receive some gifts
and they were very happy. Therefore, in my future
teaching practice, I will make sure to apply the positive
reinforcement strategies to motivate students to
participate and manage them during the lessons at the
same time.

implementation)
Reflection Monitoring students while working is very important. It
provides an opportunity for teachers to make sure that
students are in the track and to check their
comprehension process. In my last teaching practice, I
did not take this point in my consideration, which made
face some issues with my classroom management.
Because I was not monitoring students, they were
talking and confusing the others instead of working on
their tasks. In addition, sometimes I was not able to
accomplish my lessons objectives because I had to
explain some points several times for students who were
not paying attention, which wasted my time, hence I did
not have the chance to implement all of my assessments
to check students understanding of some lessons.

Therefore, in this teaching practice, I was monitoring

students while working on each task or activity. Also, to
make sure that they understood what they had to do, I
was asking them some oral questions that were relevant
to their tasks. Questioning is a powerful tool that can be
used to assess students comprehension and engage them
during the tasks (Moss, 2019). Moreover, I followed
another strategy, which helped me to manage students
by making all of them busy with doing something. After
giving them the instruction of each task, I was dividing
the roles on them, so each students had something to do.

I noticed that monitoring the students while working

and dividing the roles on them plays a crucial role on
achieving the lesson objectives. It allowed me to engage
and check students understanding in each stage. Thus,
in my future teaching practice, I will ensure monitoring
students during the lessons and providing a role for each
students, in which all of them participate in the learning
process.

Reflection Critical reflection is an important tool that teachers can

use to evaluate their methods, strategies and techniques
in their classrooms (Serra, 2015). The main aim of the
critical reflection is to improve teachers' teaching
methods and students' learning process. This reflection
can be a private process or you can discuss it with your
colleagues (Serra, 2015). During my teaching practices,
I used to reflect on the lessons that I have taught.
Unfortunately, I was not reflecting immediately after
each lesson, which made me forget most of the things
that happened during the lessons. Thus, I did not have
the chance to improve the needed areas. In addition, my
reflections were not written critically.
I used to describe what happened during the lesson
rather than thinking critically about why those things
happened. Therefore, in this teaching practice, I made
sure to reflect on my lessons immediately, so I do not
forget the most important things that I need to consider
in my next lesson.

I used to give a brief description about the lessons, and

then mention the strengths points. I believe that looking
at the good side by thinking about the good things that
happened during the lessons motivates me to do the
better in my future teaching. On the other hand, I tried
to look at the areas that needed to be improved.

I feel certain that doing this supports my teaching

development and gives me more experience. Moreover,
sitting with my MST to discuss and share ideas helped
me a lot with the preparation of my future lessons in
which I knew what I needed to focus on. However, in
my future teaching, I will ask my peers to observe me as
well, so I can benefit from their point of view and get
some new ideas for my future teaching.
