ABE Powder Type

Muster ABE Fire Extinguishers are distinguished by a white coloured band around the top of the cylinder. The ABE Powder type are type
suitable for all paper, textiles, wood, plastics, rubber, petrol, oil, paints, LPG, CNG, Acetylene and electrically charged equipment. It is
also important to remember that when using this Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) extinguisher, consideration must be made in relation to the
location and usage of this product as a fine powder is discharged that may cause specific concerns or damage.

Features include stainless steel handles, steel cylinder, brass valve and powder coated red finish. These extinguishers are available in
a range of sizes, from a 2.1kg model to a 9.0kg model suitable for industrial applications. The ABE range also offers a range of high
performance fire extinguisher.

ABE Powder Type – High-Performance
The Muster Hi-Performance ABE Powder type models are distinguished by a white coloured band around the top of the cylinder. With the
introduction of a new powder, a thicker walled cylinder, a new heavy duty valve and handle with double rivets, JSG offers a class leading
product which is capable of extinguishing the fiercest of fires with greater efficiency.

Ideally suited in circumstances where a faster and safer ‘knock down’ is required such as mine sites, service stations and any high risk
area due to its improved rating of 4A:80BE. Muster ABE Fire Extinguishers are suitable for all paper, textiles, wood, plastics, rubber,
petrol, oil, paints, LPG, CNG, Acetylene and electrically charged equipment.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Type
The Muster Carbon Dioxide (CO2) type fire extinguishers are distinguished by a black coloured band around the top of the cylinder. The
CO2 models use a non-conductive and non-corrosive CO2 gas to reduce the amount of oxygen available to the fire, effectively smothering
the fire. Muster ABE Fire Extinguishers are suitable for use in electronic environments. The CO2 gas does not leave behind residue when
used to extinguish a fire.

AFFF Foam Type
The Muster AFF Foam type fire extinguisher is distinguished
by a blue coloured band around the top of the cylinder. This
extinguisher contains a concentrate mixed with water and
is best suited for the fires that involve flammable materials
and combustible liquids such as paper, textiles, wood,
petrol, oil, paints, plastics and rubber. Features include
stainless steel cylinder, stainless steel handles, brass valve
and a powder coated red finish.

Air/Water Type
The Muster Air/Water type fire extinguisher does not have
a coloured band around the top of the cylinder. This type of
fire extinguisher is recommended for Class A fires (wood,
paper, plastics, textiles, rubber and rubbish). The Muster
9.0 Litre Air/Water extinguisher acts to reduce the burning
temperature so that the fire can be brought under control.
It is important to remember that this type of extinguisher
is not to be used on flammable and combustible liquids,
electrically energised equipment and cooking oils and fats
as this may enhance the fire. Features include stainless
steel handles and cylinder, brass valve and powder coated
red finish.

Wet Chemical Type
The Muster 7.0 Litre Wet Chemical type fire extinguisher is
distinguished by a oatmeal coloured band around the top
of the cylinder. This type of fire extinguisher is especially
designed for fat and oil fires (Class F), Muster’s 7.0 Litre
Wet Chemical extinguisher uses saponification agents to
quickly kill the fire and stop re-ignition. It is able to do this
by forming a thick layer on the fat or oil, turning it into a
soap like substance. This extinguisher is also suitable for
Class A fires (wood and paper). Features include stainless
steel handles, stainless steel cylinder, brass valve and a
powder coated red finish.

MUSTER FIRE BLANKETS
The Muster range of quality fire blankets are durable, easy to use and are certified to Australian Standards AS/NZS 3504. The Muster fire
blankets consist of a woven fibre glass fire resistant fabric and is a fast and efficient way to control one of the most dangerous types of
domestic fire, for example the ignition of cooking oil on the kitchen stove.

Also suitable to fight these fire types: stove top fires – fat fires, cooking oils and clothing fires. Ideal for use in kitchen, caravan and boat.
Whether the blanket is placed on top, or surrounding it, the job of the blanket is to cut off the oxygen supply to the fire, thereby putting
it out.

ABE Powder Type

Muster’s range of mobile/wheeled extinguishers is best
used where a large amount of fire extinguishing agent is
required. The ABE mobile extinguisher can be used on Class
A, B, C and E fires. Features include stainless steel cylinder,
ultra-high UV powder coated red finish and a galvanised
powder coated red trolley. The ABE Extinguishers are
available in 30kg, 50kg, 70kg and 90kg sizes.

Standard Fire Hose Reel

With a weight of 22kg (approx.), this reel is easy to operate
and is constructed of heavy duty parts making this Fire
Hose Reel suited to almost any application. The Hose Reel
is fitted with an adjustable nozzle that can be adjusted from
fogging to a continuous stream. Our Fixed Fire Hose Reel
comes with all parts required, including 25mm Ball Valve
(including nozzle locking device), Hose Guide and Wall

SERVICING FIRE EQUIPMENT
Fire equipment installed in all commercial, public and multi-occupancy residential buildings all need to be regularly inspected and tested.
The inspection, test and maintenance procedures for fire equipment is specified in the Australian Standard AS 1851 “Maintenance of Fire
Protection Systems and Equipment”.

There are some key points that the general community and property owners should be aware of to ensure they receive the appropriate
level of servicing.

Servicing Requirements

ƒƒ All equipment is to be inspected every six months.

ƒƒ When an extinguisher does not have a pressure gauge, they need to be weighed to make sure they are full.
ƒƒ Extinguishers need to be replaced or emptied, pressure tested and refilled every five years.
ƒƒ The test and servicing dates are to be recorded on a metal tag attached to the unit.
ƒƒ As long as the extinguisher is in a serviceable condition then there is nothing else to be done, unless the gauge indicates the unit
is under pressure or the weight is too low.
ƒƒ Any additional work needed to be carried out must be approved by the client before being carried out.
ƒƒ Extinguishers must be refilled if only partially discharged.
ƒƒ All fire equipment has to be tested in accordance to AS1851-2012.

Servicing Personnel

ƒƒ Servicing technicians need to identify themselves to a person responsible for the building before completing any work.
ƒƒ Extinguisher servicing companies and their technicians have no authority to enforce legislation.
ƒƒ The service personnel should sign off all necessary documentation and then explain what service work they are charging for.
ƒƒ Small and large service companies carry out equipment servicing. Only in Queensland do the service technicians need to be
licensed.
ƒƒ There are courses in equipment maintenance available nationally. These courses are not relevant if the company is only supplying
the pre-stamped new equipment.
