Live Load PDF

The live loads that shall be used for different building areas are specified. Offices shall use 4 kN/m2 accounting for general office loads of 2.5 kN/m2 and additional 1.5 kN/m2 for removable partitions. Canteens, halls, and other common areas shall use 5 kN/m2. Toilet rooms and locker rooms shall use 3 kN/m2. Kitchens shall use 7.5 kN/m2. The design wind load is 40 m/s. Notional horizontal loads of 0.015 of the dead load will be applied according to BS8110-1:1997.

Notional Load (horizontal)

Notional load (Fx & Fy) with lateral load factor = 0.015 (1.5%) of Dead Load would be
applied to every storey level according to BS8110-l :1997 - clause 3.1.4.
