Research Problem: Smoking Cigarette at Early Age
Research Topic: Cigarette Smoking
General Question: Why do some people smoke cigarette at early age?
Specific Question:
a) What happen when you smoke a cigarette
b) Why is cigarette smoking dangerous to your health?
c) What are the bad effects of smoking cigarettes?
d) How can you get away from smoking?
Background of the topic:
Smoking cigarette is one of the present problems in our country. Many Filipinos are
get rid in smoking at their early age. Some people consider smoking as their hobby.
They consider smoking as their vice. We all know that smoking cigarette is dangerous
to one’s health but still many people are smoking even at their early age.

What is your topic all about?


Globally smoking is still on the rise among teenagers. Cigarette smoking among
teenagers is one of the problem in our country and it is also considered as a public
health problem.
According to study, the incidence of smoking at the primary school age
appeared to be correlated with the incidence of smoking by a family member and at
high school age with the incidence of smoking by a friend. It also found out that the
chance are high that Filipino children with are between 11 to 16 have already tried
smoking cigarette.
There is a recent survey, with the Natural Youth Commission in 2017 that
31.92% Filipino minors smoke tobacco products. This means nearly nine out of 10 of
all smokers start as smoking minors and 98% first tried smoking by age 26.
These results suggest the need fir anti-smoking education beginning in a lower
grade in primary school.

Why did you choose that topic as your subject?


We cannot deny the fact that many teenagers tried smoking cigarette at their
early age and we’re certain this effect much their health and education.
As a student, we are very much aware with the smoking habit among teenagers.
We are also aware of the effects of cigarette smoking. As early as possible these
teenagers should aware of the effects of smoking cigarette ti their health and the
effect to their education.
We want to remind and appeal to those teenagers who tried smoking cigarette to
stop their vice from their future.
