1 Introduction
vesseltracker.com is a web portal for the latest vessel information which is used by companies in
the areas of shipping, transports and logistics. The vesseltracker.com limited company has been
founded in 2006 by three Hamburgian entrepreneurs and is growing continuously since. The
information area for professional users is complemented by a time delayed public area and a
comprehensive photo community. A constantly growing ship archive containing more than 150.000
photos already is at the users disposal. With approximately 25.000 daily visitors and more than 6
Mio. page impressions vesseltracker.com is the largest website in the maritime area and is also
the right choice for interested advertising partners.

Since almost all vessels today are equipped with an Automatic Identification System - AIS -, you
can follow routes and courses in real-time. All vessels equipped with AIS, which are vessels larger
than 300 RT, are sending various data via radio, such as callsign, name, length, width, ship type
and current position. Even maintenance and service ships, for example tugs, and of course large
passenger ships and ferries are visible.

All ship movements can be accessed via the website or can be displayed additionally in Google
Earth. The professional user will find various webservices to integrate information into ERP
systems.

The following pages contain useful information about our general offerings and instructions for our
services liable to charges. The services are marked with icons, so you can immediately find the
areas of interest for you.

2 Homepage
2.1 General Features
Registration
You will find the option to sign up for vesseltracker.com at the top of our website.

Click on "Sign Up Now" if you do not have a vesseltracker.com-account yet.

Naturally we are handling your personal data with the utmost care and will on no account forward
them to third parties.

Tips for registration:

· You do not need to fill in the Coupon Code

Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your e-mail-
address. After confirmation you will automatically receive another mail containing your username
and password.

Should you not receive any of these two mails, please make sure to check in the spam folder of

your e-mail-account.

Login
If you are already registered, you will find the option to log in next to the registration button.

Click on "Login", to login to

vesseltracker.com.

If you have lost your password, you can use the "Lost password?"-option. You will be prompted to
enter you e-mail-address and will automatically receive a new password.

Map View
You will find various map views on our website.

You can move the map section by pressing and holding the left mouse button and moving the

mouse, if you would like to see a different area. You can use the mouse wheel to zoom the section
in and out. Additionally there are five icons which you can use to alter the map views.

Vessels are displayed on the map using four different icons:

The vessel is moving in the direction indicated by the arrow

The vessel is anchoring

The vessel is moored

If you move your mouse over one of the icons, you will receive additional information about the
respective vessel.

Click on the vessel name to reach

the shipdetail page.

Adjacent to the map you will find a list of the shown vessels. Clicking on a vessel's name will lead
to the respective shipdetail page.

Ship Search
If you are looking for a specific vessel, enter the name or the IMO-number into the search field.

Note: You can also enter only part of a vessel's name. The search function will display all vessels
which at least a partially match the entered name. The IMO-number hast to be entered completely,
though. Names are case insensitive.

Click on the magnifying glass to start the search.

You will obtain a list of all vessel names matching your search criteria.

Click on a vessel name to receive more information.

Vessel Archive
In our vessel archive you can find all vessels which have ever sent an AIS signal in one of our
covered areas.

The list is ordered alphabetically. Since the number of vessels listed is growing constantly, the
amount of names per letter can be quite long.

You can select an initial letter for filter the list and use the navigation bar to browse through the
existing vessels.

2.2 Region overview

On the region page you will find all ports and vessels in a region.

You can get a list of all moving and anchored vessels in a region.

For every vessel its name, IMO-number, type of ship, position and destination are displayed. For
the anchored vessels the estimated time of arrival is also shown.

2.3 Port overview

On the port page you will find all vessels in a port.

Example: The latest arrivals and departures in the port of Hamburg.

Arrivals and Departures will display a list of the vessels which have most recently moored or
unmoored in a port.

Map will display a map view of the respective port.

Besides the Arrivals and Departures there are three additional pages for each port:

· Moored Vessels (all vessels currently moored in the port)

· Entered Port (all vessels which have moored in the port within the last 24 hours)
· Expected (all vessels indication the port as their destination)

Note: The information about the expected vessels is based on the vessels AIS signals. Due to this
only vessels which have correctly entered the respective port into their AIS system as their
destination appear in this list.

For every vessel its name, IMO-number, the flag under which it is sailing and the type of ship are
displayed. In the "Moored" and "Entered" overviews the berth and the time of moorage are also
shown. For expected vessels the expected time of arrival is displayed.

2.4 Ship detail page

vesseltracker.com is offering an extensive information page for every vessel from which you can
reach all available data regarding a ship.

The upper part of the page contains general information about the vessel.

Besides the name and the type of the ship, additional information like identification-numbers, flag,
callsign and measurements are presented. Please keep in mind that this information is retrieved
directly from the AIS signal of the respective vessel.

In this area you can:

· Create an Alert (see page 16) for the vessel
· Add this vessel to your favorite vessels (see page 29)

Below the ship photo you will find buttons to control a slide show displaying the best photos of the
vessel.

Position
Here you can find all available positional data in one central location.

Example: The "Conceiver" is moving in an area covered by vesseltracker.com.

If a vessels is currently moving in an area covered by vesseltracker.com, you can follow its
movements in realtime on the map.

Note: For users of a free of charge "Free Account" the display is delayed by at least two hours.

Depending on availability you can find additional information about a vessel adjacent to the map.
This information is read directly from the vessels AIS signal:
· Speed
· Heading
· Course
· Draught
· Destination
· Estimated time of arrival
· Last seen

Additionally you will see a list of the last distinctive waypoints the vessels has passed.

Should a vessel be currently outside of a covered region but a prior position is available, the last
available position will be displayed on the map. You can easily recognize this by the grey anchor
icon used to show the position. If available you will also see the time and date the ship was last
seen, its course, destination and estimated time of arrival.

Example: The "Effie Maersk" is currently not in one of the regions covered by vesseltracker.com.

For vessels with the destination "Hamburg" you can also find information about the ship's agent
and the berth it is headed for.

If the button "Show Track" is activated, you can use this button to display the route of the last 24
hours on the map.

Last known berths

Here you will find the last berths at which the vessels was moored.

Example: The "Harmonie" is moving regularly within the port of Hamburg.

For every berth you can see the port, the name of the berth and the times the vessels moored and
unmoored.

Photos
Here you can find the ten best rated photos for a ship.

You can see the total number of photos on vesseltracker.com for a ship and also upload your own
photos.

History

In the history you can find an overview of all changes in the master data of a vessel's AIS
transmissions.

The following changes are recorded:

· Name
· Callsign
· MMSI-number
· Flag
· Type of ship

The changes are recorded chronological and you can see the time and date for each change.

2.5 Alerting

Alerts are offering you the option to be automatically kept up to date on vessel movements. As
soon as a ship enters or leaves a predefined area you will be informed via e-mail, telephone or
SMS message. To create and edit alerts login to our website and choose "My Vesseltracker" and
"My Alerts" afterwards. You will see an overview of the alerts you have created.

Example: Two alerts have been created.

An alert always consists of the following information:

· Start: From when on is an alert active

· End: Until when is an alert active?
· E-mail: Where should the message be sent to?
· optionally a second e-mail-address
· optionally a mobile phone number
· Active or not active

For each alert you can define a number of events, about which you would like to be informed. Only
if you have defined at least one event, messages can be sent.

The following types of events exist:

· Ship is entering a region

· Ship is leaving a region
· Ship is entering a port
· Ship is leaving a port
· Ship is berthing at a particular berth
· Ship is casting off from a particular berth
· Ship is passing a waypoint

You can add additional events to an alert by clicking on "edit". Moving the mouse over the number
of events for an alert will display a quick overview over the individual events for this alert.

Creating an alert
To create an alert, first select the desired vessel. To do this, enter the name of the vessel in the
search area and click on the magnifying glass.

Example: We are looking for the "Cap San Diego".

Choose the correct vessel from the results list.

Click on the "Cap San Diego".

On the ship detail page you will find the option to create an alert for the vessel.

Click on
"Define e-mail / SMS alert or wakeup call".

Now you can define the period during which you would like to be informed about this vessel's
movements.

We would like to be informed about the "Cap San Diego's" movements during January 2009.

Enter up to two e-mail-addresses and a mobile phone number, to which the messages will be sent.

Additionally you are able to enter a phone number to receive wakeup calls from vesseltracker.
com about your alerts.

Select your country from the list of available countries and enter your phone number (including area code).

After you have adjusted all the settings, you can save the alert.

Defining an event
In addition to an alert you will need at least one event about which you would like to be informed.

Click on "Create new event".

Choose the type of event first.

We would like to be informed about movements in a port.

After you have selected an event type, choose a country.

We would like to be informed about a port in Germany.

Having chosen a country, please select the desired port and action.

Note: If you would like to be informed about entering and leaving an area, you have to create two

separate events. There is no option to combine leaving and entering in one event. An alternative is
to choose a waypoint at the regions border. This way you will be informed whenever the vessel
passes the regions border, regardless of it's direction.

Example: We would like to be informed when the "Cap San Diego" runs out of the port of Hamburg.

· Waypoint

Example: This event informs about the "Cap San Diego" passing the waypoint Cuxhaven.

Note: The passage of a waypoint will trigger an event regardless of the ship's direction. If you are
missing an important waypoint, please contact us and we will install it for you if possible.

Once you have chosen all the necessary settings for an event, you can click on "Save" to add the
event to your alert.

2.6 Community
In this area you can find all the information about ship photos on vesseltracker.com. You can view
and rate other users' pictures, find single users and upload your own photos. Additionally you can
send messages to other users and add them to your contact list.

The Community Search enables you to find other users once you are logged in.

Uploading photos
vesseltracker.com is offering you a platform to present your best ship photos. To share your
photos with other users, please register first.

Ship detail page

On every ship detail page you can see the photos of a ship that have been uploaded by the users.

Under "Photos" you can find a selection of the available photos of a vessel.

Please use these pictures as a reference to guarantee that you have selected the correct vessel.
Mistakes happen easily so we can only encourage you to use adequate care.

If you are certain to have selected the correct ship, you can use the link "Image Upload for ..." to
directly upload your photo.

If you click on this link you can directly upload a photo of the selected vessel.

Image upload
Please only upload pictures for which you possess the copyright. You will be given the opportunity
to stamp a photo with a personal copyright notice later on. If you have read and understood the
conditions for uploading a picture, mark the appropriate checkbox and select your image file by
clicking on "Choose".

Please keep in mind that you can only upload JPEG-files.

Once you have selected the correct file, click on "Upload the photo now". Your photo will appear on
our website immediately.

Copyright notice
After you have uploaded a photo you will be given the opportunity to enter a title for the picture and
record a copyright notice.

You can click on the image to review a submission preview of the photo in original size.

The entered title will appear as a description when the photo is viewed and the copyright notice will
automatically be inscribed in the bottom left corner of the image. Thank you for taking your time to
enrich our photo archive.

Note: Use the title to write down the name of the vessel and the place and time of the recording.
For Example: Cap San Diego, 1st of January 2009 in Hamburg.

Rating ship photos

You can rate the photos of other users on vesseltracker.com. To do this you can use the star icons
which are present on every photo page.

Click on the
stars to rate a picture.
The more stars you are giving away, the better you are rating a picture.

Note: Please try to rate the pictures impartially and do not grant an unnecessary high or low
number of stars just because the photographer might be a personal acquaintance of yours.

Community Search
In addition to the simple search option for usernames, which you can find on the entry page for the
Community, you can also search the user profiles for various criteria.

Enter your search terms into the fields which you would like to search and click "Submit request!".
You will see a list of all users whose profile matches your search.

2.7 My Vesseltracker
Under "My Vesseltracker" you can find all personal settings and favorite-lists which you have
created. Please keep in mind that this option is only visible if you are logged in.

Settings
Under "Data and Password" you can find all settings available for vesseltracker.com.

Under Addresses you can change general user data and add a business as well as a private
address. You can also enter a new address here if your contact data should change. Of course
you keep complete control over the use of your data.

You can select to receive our newsletter by marking the appropriate checkbox. If you would like to
unsubscribe from the newsletter, simply remove the mark.

Note: The settings for "Language" and "Timezone" will affect other functions. All times you can
see on the website are refering to the timezone set here. The language setting will define the
language for the vesseltracker.com newsletter.

Under Profile you are given the option to provide additional information about yourself and define
who is allowed to view your personal data on the website.

You can:
· Make your profile publicly accessible or show it exclusively to your contacts
· Accept or block messages from other users
· Show your private and business address and you date of birth to your contacts only or make
them publicly accessible

To show profile information, e.g. your date of birth, simply mark the appropriate checkbox.

When saving your settings, you can decide wether to overwrite preferences for individual contacts
or not. Should you decide to overwrite, then the new settings will apply globally and remove the
individual settings for your contacts.

Under GoogleEarth you will find settings for your personal Google Earth File.

Under Password you can change your password.

Under Photo you can upload a user picture. This will appear on your profile page and in the
photographers overview.

My Vessels
You can create a list of your favorite vessels, so you will not have to use the ship search each time
you want to access the ship's details.

For each vessel a preview and the ship type will be displayed. You can also save a short note for a
vessel. Please keep in mind that clicking "save" will only save the respective note and reset all
other notes to the last saved version. So if you would like to change multiple notes, please select
"save" after each change in order not to loose any changes.

Additionally the last know position for each vessel will be displayed.

If you would like to remove a vessel from your favorite list, click on "delete".

My Contacts
You can maintain your contacts to other users with vesseltracker.com. To do this, vesseltracker.
com offers you a message system as well as a contact list, where you can administer your various
contacts.

The list is divided into unanswered contact requests, active contacts and rejected or deleted
contacts. You can also access the contact lists of your contacts. When clicking on the user image
of a contact or the contact's user name or following the link "To the profile for ..." you will reach the
contacts profile page.

On this page you can view the usual user information and adjust which parts of your profile the
respective contact is allowed to view.

My Messages
You can use vesseltracker.com to exchange messages with other users. You can send messages
to contacts and also to other users, as long as these have enabled the message function in their
settings.

You will be notified on your personal "My Vesseltracker"-page if you have new messages and you
will also receive a notification e-mail. Additionally unread messages are displayed in bold letters on
the "My Messages"-page, so you can quickly survey your messages.

Each message contains a recipient, a subject and the message text. You can only send messages
to one user at a time.

2.8 Problems with the website

Sometimes errors in the browsercache can lead to certain services on vesseltracker.com (e.g.
logging out, creating alerts, uploading photos) malfunctioning. To remove these errors you have to
delete the temporary internet files.

Note: Deleting your temporary internet files may take some time, depending on how regularly you
are performing this operation. Please be patient.

To delete the temporary internet files in Firefox, please follow this procedure:

· Open Firefox
· Choose any website besides "www.vesseltracker.com" - for example www.google.com
· Choose "Clear Private Data" from the menu "Tools"

· Remove all check marks except for "Cache" and then click on "Clear Private Data Now"

To delete the temporary internet files in the Internet Explorer 8, please follow this procedure:

· Open the Internet Explorer

· Choose any website besides "www.vesseltracker.com" - for example www.google.com
· Click on "Tools" and then select "Internet Options"

3 Google Earth
Google Earth is a browser for satellite maps featuring easy navigation and is thus in our opinion
the best tool to display live AIS vessel positions. The maps are extremely detailed, so you can
even recognizge single containers within a port. If you have not yet installed Google Earth on your
computer, please visit the Google Earth website here: http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html

Please keep in mind the Google Earth licence agreement for professional use.

3.1 Settings
To configure your personal Vesseltracker Google Earth File, please login to our website first. Then
choose "Data and password" from "My Vesseltracker".

Home Region: This will define the region into which Google Earth zooms during the start.

Highlight my vessels: Vessels, belonging to your fleet, will be specially highlighted in

Google Earth.

Show all vessels: If this checkbox is marked, Google Earth will always load all vessels available
on vesseltracker.com. You should only choose this option when operating on a powerful computer,
because the number of available vessels is extremely large and constantly growing. If this box is
not marked, only the vessels which move in the current map section are loaded. Please keep in
mind that this option will also affect the search function in Google Earth: You can only find vessels
which are currently loaded, so if you would like to look for vessels which are not within your current
map section you will have to mark this box.

Show polygons: If this option is checked, Google Earth will display polygons depicting the vessels
when you zoom in close enough. Without this option only the circular icons are displayed. It might
be useful to deactivate this feature on slower computers, as it does not affect any functionality.

Show update-time: If this option is checked, a clock is displayed in Google Earth showing the
time of the latest data reception from the server. The time shown depends on your chosen
timezone (see "Settings").

Important note: Changes in the settings will be transferred to Google Earth immediately after
saving. You do not have to download your personal Google Earth File again. Simply refresh the
appropriate folder in Google Earth "Places".

3.2 Download Google Earth File

Here you will find your personal Google Earth File on vesseltracker.com:

Click on the link and save the file on your computer, for example on your desktop.

Download Google Earth File

Alternatively you can directly open the file in Google Earth. Please pay attention that any old
version of the file is removed from Google Earth before you do this, as multiple occurrences in
Google Earth can cause problems.

Note: You can only use the Google Earth File on one computer at a time. If you are using a
different computer and download a new Google Earth File from vesseltracker.com, the old version
will automatically become invalid. So if you would like to use the Google Earth data on multiple
computers you will have to log in to vesseltracker.com and download a new file every time you are
switching computers.

3.3 Open Google Earth File

Before opening a new Google Earth File you should ensure that all old versions have been
removed from Google Earth, as multiple occurrences can cause unwanted side effects. In order to
do this, please check the area "Places" in the Google Earth sidebar and delete all contents with
names containing "vesseltracker". Should the sidebar be hidden, you can either display it using the
shortcut "Ctrl + Alt + B" or using the main menu "View" and "Sidebar".

Right-click on all entries

"vesseltracker..." and choose Delete.

When all old version are removed, you can open your personal Google Earth File. To do this
choose "File" and "Open..." from the main menu.

You can save the folder under "My Places" so you will not have to reload the file every time you
restart Google Earth. To do this, right-click on the folder and choose "Save to My Places" from the
context menu. After you have saved the vesseltracker.com Google Earth File to "My Places" the
data will be available whenever you start Google Earth.

3.4 Check Internet connection

To check you internet connection, please open any internet browser - for example Mozilla Firefox
or Microsoft Internet Explorer - an test wether you can reach any website - for example www.
google.de. Should this fail, your internet connection is probably disconnected.

If the internet connection is working, please check wether you can load www.vesseltracker.com.
Sometimes you will see a note saying the site is down for maintenance. In this case please wait a
couple of minutes before trying again. If www.vesseltracker.com loads correctly, problems with
your internet connection or the vesseltracker.com server can be eliminated.

Take a look in the Google Earth sidebar. Should the sidebar be hidden, you can either display it

small "+"-icon next to the folder until you can see the subfolders "AIS Live Data" and
"Vesseltracker Logo".

The icon next to "AIS Live Data" shows the status of your
connection

Next to the name "AIS Live Data" you can see a folder-symbol with a colored dot. If this dot is red,
right-click on the folder-symbol and choose "Refresh". The dot should turn yellow and start moving,
indicating that Google Earth is trying to load data.

If the dot turns green afterwards, everything is in order and you should be able to continue working.
If the color returns to red though, your Google Earth File is probably invalid. In this case please
download a new Google Earth File.

3.5 Legend
In Google Earth vessels are represented using symbols. These symbols indicate the current state
or a vessel.

This vessel is moving in the direction indicated by the arrow.

This vessel is anchoring.

This vessel is moored.

This vessel is waiting.

3.6 Ship search

If you are looking for a specific vessel in Google Earth, either use the shortcut "Ctrl + F" or choose
"Edit" and "Find" in the main menu. A search window will be displayed in the side bar below
"Places".

Enter the name of the vessel you would like to find into the field. You can enter only part of the
name, too. The two arrow-icons enable you to switch between all found matches for your search
term. Please keep in mind that Google Earth can only find vessels which are actually loaded. If you
are unable to find a certain vessel this can have various reasons.

First check you settings wether you are loading all vessels in Google Earth or only a fraction of the
available vessels. If you are only loading a fraction of the available vessels, Google Earth will only
be able to find vessels which are either within the displayed map section or close to it.

If you are loading all vessels and still cannot find the vessel you are looking for, then this probably
results from the vessel being currently out of any region covered by vesseltracker.com.

3.7 Problems with Google Earth

The vessel names appear twice or more often in Google Earth!
Your Google Earth file has been opened multiple times. In the "Places" part of the sidebar
you should be able to locate multiple instances of folder containing vesseltracker.com
data (e.g. vesseltracker_xxx.kmz oder vesseltrackerlight.kmz). Please remove all of these
files besides one.

Why can't I see any vessels at all in Google Earth?

To use Google Earth for AIS tracking with vesseltracker.com you need at least version 4!
Please check which version you have installed and update if necessary. You can find a
function for automatic updates in the main menu under "Help" and "Check for automatic
Updates".

I cannot see vessels when starting Google Earth!

Your Google Earth File may have become invalid, because you downloaded a new one.
To receive a current, valid version, remove all old occurrences of "vesseltracker ..." from

"Places" in the sidebar, close Google Earth and download a new Google Earth File.

Google Earth is working very slow!

Since Google Earth is rather demanding on the hardware resources, there are various
option to increase the speed. For example you can reduce the number of vessels being
loaded in the settings and thus also reduce the amount of memory needed. Should you be
dependent on loading all vessels, there are other ways to improve the performance. In the
main menu under "Tools" and "Options..." you will find a number of settings which can
help increase the speed. Try reducing the "Texture Colors" and the "Terrain Quality". A
change of "Graphics Mode" might also improve the performance.

When starting Google Earth I get one of the following error messages:

Probably your internet connection is disconnected. Please close Google Earth, check your
internet connection and restart Google Earth. If the connection is working correctly, the
error message should not be displayed again.

This error message can have different reasons:

· Your internet connection is disconnected
· The vesseltracker.com server is currently unavailable
· Your Google Earth File is invalid

Please check your internet connection first. If this is working then proceed by trying to
load www.vesseltracker.com in your webbrowser. Should this be working, too, then your
Google Earth File is probably invalid. Please download a fresh Google Earth File.

4 Mobile
You can also use vesseltracker.com on your mobile phone. For that purpose you need a web
compatible phone. To access vesseltracker.com with your mobile phone, please enter the
following address in your phone's web-browser:

You will reach the login site:

Your username and your password are the same as on our website. After the login you will
immediately reach the the portlist.

Note: After logging in bookmark the URL in your favorites. On your next visit with your mobile
phone you will be automatically logged in and you will not need to log in again.

4.1 Header and Footer

In the mobile services' header you will find a couple of tools to help you deal with the services
successfully.

Below the logo you will see three links. "Home" brings you to the port that you have set as your
homeport in the settings. If you click on "portlist" you can choose any available port.

Below these links you will find a search field. If you enter a vessel name into this field and click on
the magnifying glass, you will see a list of all vessels whose name matches the entered term. If
there is only one vessel matching your search term, you will be directly forwarded to the ship page.

To help you move faster through our mobile presence, the system will save the pages you have
visited the most recently. You will find these pages below the search area. Click here to reach your
most recent port, the last viewed map or the latest vessel as quickly as possible.

The footer combines a link to your homeport or the portlist with other useful links. From this point
you can directly reach your favorite vessels, your alerts or change your mobile settings.

4.2 Portlist
On this page you will find an overview of all countries in which vesseltracker.com can show you
vessel positions. Choose a country-name to see all available ports in that country.

You can always access this view by clicking "Home" in the header area. If you have chosen a
homeport in the settings, then you can access this view by clicking on portlist.

If you have chosen a country you will see an overview of all available ports in this country. Click on
a port name to go to a detailed view of that port.

4.3 Port page

For every port there is a central page from which you can access all different overview pages.

The following detail pages exist for every port:

· Arrivals and Departures (Overview of the most recently moored and unmoored vessels)
· Expected Vessels (List of all vessels heading for this port and their expected time of arrival)

Map
The map view is split in two parts. In the upper part you will find the name of the port and the
actual map.

On the map the vessels will be displayed as colored

icons.

On the edge of the map there are arrows you can use to move the map section. Additionally there
are five icons which you can use to alter the map views.

The bottom part of the map page contains a list of all vessels currently in the visible map section.
Depending on the size of the map section vessels will only be shown down to a minimum length.
The list can be configured to either show the vessels visible on the map or all vessels available in
the region. To change the number of displayed vessels use the orange link you see between the
minimum length and the list of vessels.

Click on the orange link to adjust the number of listed

vessels.

In front of every vessel name you will find a color-coded area which will quickly tell you the vessel's
status. There are four different codes for this area:

· Blue (The vessel is moving)

· Red (The vessel is moored)
· Orange (The vessel is anchoring)
· Gray (The vessel is waiting)

For every vessel you can find the name, the flag under which the ship is sailing, the ship type, the
IMO-number and a status field, whose content depends on the vessel's current state, in the list.

Depending on the state of a vessel the illustration in the status field will vary. A circular icon
displays the state:

The vessel is moving

The vessel is anchoring

The vessel is moored

The vessel is currently not moving

If available the speed and draught are displayed in addition to the direction of a moving vessel. For
moored vessels the time of mooring as well as their current port are displayed. For anchored
vessels their roadstead will be shown.

Please note that this information is read directly from the vessel's AIS signal. This means that due
to errors and connection problems some information may not be available.

Berths
Here you will find an overview of all berths in a port as well as the number of moored vessels per
berth.

Clicking on a berth will forward you directly to the map for this berth. The structure of a map page
for a berth is identical to that of a port's map page.

Arrivals and Departures

Here you will find the vessels which have recently moored or unmoored in a port ordered by time.

In addition to the times you will see the vessel's name

and the berth.

Expected vessels
A list of all vessels heading towards the chosen port and their expected time of arrival.

The names are linked to the ship page. Additionally you will see the ship type, the IMO-number
and the flag under which the ship is sailing.

4.4 Ship page

For every vessel there is a central page where you can find all available information.

If the vessel is currently moving in a covered region, you will see a map of the current position.
Additionally all available information is displayed below the map, for example the speed and
direction for moving vessels or the time of mooring and the berth for moored vessels. Should a
vessel currently be moving outside of any covered region and an older position is available, then
the last available position will be displayed.

You can zoom the map in or out using the "+" and "-" buttons. Clicking on the map will directly
forward you to the map page for the respective area.

If there are photos of the vessel in our database they will be displayed below the positional data.

You can use the arrow-buttons to navigate through the pictures. Below each photo you will see the
photographer and the number of available pictures for this vessel.

Below the photos you will find additional data for the respective vessel as well as the option to add
the vessel to your favorite vessels, create an alert for the vessel and view the last berths of the
vessel.

If you click on "last berths" the details above the ship's data will be hidden and a list of the last
known berths will be shown below the ship's data.

The link "back to details" will show the normal ship page again.

4.5 My vessels
If you are regularly following specific vessels you can add these to your favorite vessels. Under
"My vessels" these can be found at a glance.

Note: The contents of "my vessels" is the same in the mobile services as on the website. So if you
are planning bigger changes it might be advisable to do them on a regular computer.

Click on "save" to save your commentary. "Back" will

return you to "my vessels" without saving any changes.

If you are not following a vessel anymore, you can remove it from your favorites list by clicking
"delete".

4.6 My alerts
Alerts are offering you the option to be automatically kept up to date on vessel movements. As
soon as a ship enters or leaves a predefined area you will be informed via e-mail or SMS
message. To create and edit alerts login to our website and choose "My Vesseltracker" and "My
Alerts" afterwards. You will see an overview of the alerts you have created.

Note: The contents of "my alerts" is the same in the mobile services as on the website. So if you
are planning bigger changes it might be advisable to do them on a regular computer.

Under "my alerts" you can find all alerts you have created. To create a new alert, please use the
ship page. On this page you can edit or delete existing alerts.

Click on "edit" to change an existing alert or add new events about which you would like to be
informed to an alert. Additionally clicking on "edit" will show you an overview of all the events you
have already created for an alert.

You can define a start and end time for an alert, deposit up to two e-mail addresses and a mobile
number which shall be notified and activate or deactivate an alert. To change these settings click
on "edit".

In addition to the general information for an alert you will need to define events on whose
occurrence you would like to be informed. Click on "new event" to create a new event.

Creating an event is a step by step process. Please choose a type of event first. You can choose
between:
· Region (A vessel enters or leaves a region)
· Port (A vessel enters or leaves a port)
· Berth (A vessel is berthing at or casting off from a berth)
· Waypoint (A vessel passes a waypoint)

Click "next" when you have chosen a type of event.

Depending on the type of event you have chosen you will need to define further settings.

For a region:
· The region
· Entering or leaving

For a port:
· The country

· Entering port or running out of port

For a berth:
· The country
· The port

For a waypoint:
· The country

Note: If you would like to be informed about entering and leaving a region, you will have to create
two events. You cannot combine leaving and entering in one event. An alternative is to choose a
waypoint at the regions border. This way you will be informed whenever the vessel passes the
regions border, regardless of it's direction.

Once you have chosen all the necessary settings for an event, you can click on "save" to add the
event to your alert and return to the overview.

4.7 Settings
Here you have the option to edit the settings for your mobile services.

You can choose your preferred language and your timezone.

Note: Choose your timezone by selecting a city whenever possible.

Use the drop down menus to choose your preferred

language and your timezone.

You can define a home port here. You will be automatically forwarded to your home port whenever
you login to mobile.vesseltracker.com and you can always reach the home port's page by clicking
on "home" in the header. If you are regularly using a port you can spare the detour via the portlist
this way.

Click on "choose" to start the choice of your home port. Then select the country of your desired
home port from the drop down menu and click on "next".

After selecting a country choose the port from a second drop down menu and click on "save".

The quick-login-URL forwards you directly to your home port bypassing the login screen.
Bookmark this URL in your mobile phone's browser so you will not have to login again in the
future. Please keep in mind that this will only work when you are using a specific mobile phone.
When you are using a different phone you will have to enter your login data again.

You can also change the size of the map in the settings. Since the ideal display can vary greatly
between different phones, you should experiment which values will suit you best.

The drop down menu map type defines your default view for mobile maps. You can select:
· Mobile
· Roadmap
· Hybrid
· Satellite
· Terrain

In addition to the default map type you can place the navigation icons either around the map or
below the map.

GAT-Ship Integration
The GAT-Ship Operation and Quality Program is a well-proven planning, management
and documentation program. It is created and developed especially for Ship Agents in
order to economise, standardize and systematize all port call routines.
