AU routine cleaning solutions 

Bottle  Solution  Preparation Instructions 


Name/Use 
    Combine: 
Det‐1  2% Wash  2mL of Wash Solution + 98mL of DI H20 mix and  
transfer to the 60mL Det‐1 bottle 
Solution 
    Combine: 
Det‐2  2% Wash  2mL of Wash Solution + 98mL of DI H20 mix and  
transfer to the 60mL Det‐2 bottle 
Solution* 
Sample Probe    Combine: 
Wash Solution  2% Wash  2mL of Wash Solution + 98mL of DI H20 mix and  
W1 (AU480 only)  transfer to the 5mL Sample Probe Wash tube  
Solution 
     
CLN‐1  100%  Transfer undiluted Wash Concentrate to the 60mL CLN‐1 bottle 
 
Wash 
Solution 
    Combine: 
CLN‐2  20% Wash  20mL of Wash Solution + 80mL of DI H20 mix and  
transfer to the 60mL CLN‐2 bottle 
Solution 
    Combine: 
W2  10% Bleach   20mL of 5.25% Bleach +180mL of DI H20 mix and transfer to the 
60mL W2 bottle(s) (and 5mL tube ‐AU480 only) specifically 
designated for bleach. 
     
W2  1 Normal  Transfer 1 Normal HCl to the 60mL W2 bottle(s) (and 5mL tube – 
AU480 only) specifically designated for HCl. 
HCl 
    When processing HbA1c reagent (part #B00389), prior to 
W2  0.1 M  weekly maintenance a mandatory additional W2 cycle using 
0.1M NaOH is required. Transfer 0.1M NaOH to the 60mL W2 
NaOH  bottle(s) specifically designated for NaOH. (0.1 M NaOH part # 
B44081) 
Sample Pot    Combine: 
1% Wash  1mL of Wash Solution + 99mL of DI H20 mix and  
cleaning  use for Sample Pot cleaning 
solution  Solution   
*For laboratories with higher than average volumes of samples or dialysis patients, substitute 2% Wash 
Solution with 20% Bleach. Combine 10mL of Bleach + 40mL of DI H20 mix and transfer to the 60mL Det‐
2 bottle. Use Sodium Hypochlorite (part # A32319)
