If you were given a chance to put up a business, what will it be and what are the steps you
think you have to do in order to achieve it?
If I have given a chance to put up a business, I will put up a bookstore. And the steps that I
will take to be successful in the market are the following: first prioritizing customer service
than sales. It can be done by examining the current customer service and making changes to
ensure that the business is providing service superior to that of the competitors. It may require
staff training. Then also by building word of mouth for the company, by providing excellent
and professional customer services, even by treating all people with courtesy and respect, not
just the customers and gaining positive publicity by giving back to the community through
support and sponsorship of organizations and charities. Effective marketing is also a key to
be successful in the business, by creating promotional kits and also by involving media in
grand openings and charity events. Social media can also be an excellent platform for
business marketing nowadays by establishing a presence on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram. Effective marketing is the key to increasing sales.
Even with less expensive technology and marketing tools, running a business cost money,
and those costs increase regularly. To help keep the profits up, I need to control expenditures.
This strategy can be done by reviewing significant supply costs periodically and always look
for discounts or ways to pool supply purchases with other businesses to save money. It is
essential to attract and keep the right and quality employees to make the business successful.
It is also crucial to treat the employees right, showing appreciation for their works and being
an encourager will create the desire in them to treat customers and clients well. It will
contribute to higher productivity levels and profitability. It inspires them to work harder,
produces more for the development of the business. It is also essential to update the business
plan now and then because the business world is developing rapidly. It is vital to update the
business plan regularly to prompt growth and development of the business and to prevent the
industry from slowdown.

What are the important skills an entrepreneur needs? Do you see yourself as an entrepreneur
in the future? Why?
Many entrepreneurs believe that the most vital factor that will determine their level of success
in entrepreneurship relates to their overall experience and skills in the niche area. However,
the most successful entrepreneur has developed a particular set of soft skills that have to help
them reach their goals. Versatility is essential for an entrepreneur to be able to adapt well to
changing market conditions and demands. A successful entrepreneur is one who can suit
themselves in a continually evolving market. If you are going to be an entrepreneur, the only
thing that will be constant is development. You will have to adapt or see your industry to be
swallowed up by a rising tide of change. Persistence is also an essential quality of an
entrepreneur to succeed, you will have to be willing to persist through difficult times, and you
should see failures as learning opportunities. The third crucial skill is the ability and the willingness
to work very, very hard. Yes, I think I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur someday, I am
persistent, and I can work very hard on a task that is given to me. After facing failures in my
studies, I have learned how to handle failures, rejections, and lack of focus. I have also
learned to see faults as learning opportunities. I have also developed a growth mindset over
the fixed mindset. People with a growth mindset believe that abilities can be acquired through
dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a
love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.

This COVID-19 made me realize many things, the first thing that I realized during this
quarantine is life is too short that in one snap God can claim your life or the life of your loved
ones that is why it is essential to appreciate your loved ones while they can hear you, cherish
them, and loved them the hardest especially in this times. Diseases, accidents, and calamities
claim people’s lives without any warning. I have also realized that I am lucky for I have a
comfortable home where I can stay during this pandemic while some of the homeless
children do not know where to stay because at these times it is crucial to stay at home. I also
feel grateful for I have an internet connection at home where I can do my online assignments
and online quizzes while some of the students having a hard time to connect to the internet to
do their homework and exams. This COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of people
globally, including our education. The classes have been shifted to online learning. One of
the struggles that I have faced while studying online is a slow internet connection, especially
when raining. I also have the battle in understanding some lectures in other subjects because
the lectures are not being discussed handouts are just given. I think we are not getting the
quality education we need especially for a skills-based course like Pharmacy. I also have
experience headache after long hours of facing the laptop. But these struggles are nothing
compared to the students who don’t have stable internet connection and gadgets to be used.
Let’s not create exclusion and hierarchy in education. But special thanks to my professors
including Ma’am Rin who continuously understands the situations of the students in this
pandemic.
