Research 3 — Research for a Sustainable Development.

The course provides the Learners opportunities to

apply the research process and integrate knowledge and skills in their chosen specialization in the Sciences,
Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics by going through the various stages of research,
namely conceptualization, data collection, analysis and communication.

Scholars are encouraged to come up with innovative and inventive solutions to identified problems, using
their current knowledge and skills as a starting point, and expanding their knowledge base independently, as
necessary.

The course also allows scholars to extend and properly validate their research and share generated
knowledge with a target audience. Recognizing that research usually entails involvement of a multitude of
disciplines, scholars are encouraged to collaborate and interact with other research teams in the second
phase of their research, and to consider aspects of their research which may lead to product development
and/or commercialization.
