hen I relocated to Lincolnshire for work a few
years ago, I made a pact with my BFF that we’d
stay in touch, not let distance keep us apart, not
drift apart.
We met at university many moons ago, and
our relationship was mainly forged around a mutual
appreciation of alcoholic beverages, and establishments
that sell them. We were housemates; our house parties
were epic. We also enjoyed hiking – provided the walk
ended at a nice pub – and camping, providing we had
a well-stocked coolbox.
However, now we’re all grown up (well, sort of), and
actually have responsibilities beyond remembering whose
turn it is to go to the bar or what time happy hour starts,
we can’t just drink. The other issue with long-distance
relationships is that we have to get in the car and drive if
we want to see each other. So, again, no drinking – unless
it’s the weekend and we’ve having a sleepover. You’re
never too old for those, right?
Breaking After twelve-and-a-half years of ownership, Steve and I have decided it’s time to
let our dearly beloved classic VW campervan go, and the search is on to find it a
news! new loving home and someone who can cherish it as much as we have.
We will definitely shed many tears when the moment comes to wave it off, but we’re
also looking forward to the joys our new camper will offer, like Eberspächer blown-air heating
and solar panels. Our new camper has not yet been built and here it is in its raw panel van
state, although the high-top roof has just arrived from Germany so it will be heading into the
