assist Chemical Engineering students in their academic

performance and recognize their vital role in preserving and

safeguarding a wholesome image for the organization.

The association also strives to enhance the personality of the

students through cultivation of their talents, potentials,

capabilities, and leadership in all fields of undertakings.

AChES aims to render appropriate services to selected

community within its reach.

Chemical engineers (ChE) are referred to as “enablers” because they make
things happen efficiently on an industrial manufacturing scale. As an enabler,
ChE paves way to bridge the gap towards sustainability. With the advent of
technology, ChE continues to progress and break limitations in chemical, energy
and oil industries, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronic device fabrica-
tions, and environmental engineering.

The knowledge in chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology and economics

make chemical engineers valuable in various fields like manufacturing, pharma-
ceuticals, healthcare, design and construction, pulp and paper, petrochemicals,
food processing, specialty chemicals, electronic and advanced materials, poly-
mers, biotechnology, and environmental health and safety. Equipped with a
strong technical education and communication skills, chemical engineers incor-
porate valuable researches and innovations in the wide range of industrial and
professional environments.

As the needs of the global society are becoming more complex, the chemical engi-
neering profession are prompted to develop advanced technologies to make pro-
cesses more efficient. The ultimate goal of a chemical engineer is to innovate and
develop existing processes that will meet the needs of present generation without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The
“conception to resurrection” mindset should be core of a ChE to contribute in mini-
mizing the growing problem on the depletion of the natural resources and main-
taining the balance of our ecosystem.

ECONOMICS OF THE PATENT SYSTEM

Patent systems have a long history. They developed as a way to promote inno-
vation, originally either by encouraging the importation of new technologies into
a country or by making new inventions. Instead of keeping the invention secret,
countries learned that one effective way of getting inventors publicly disclose
their inventions was to offer them limited rights in exchange for doing so. Intel-

amounted to 3,988 for the first semester of 2019. Demand in intellectual prop-
erty is indicative of both a rise in innovative capacity (demand in protection of
new technology and inventions).

Chemical engineers develop and design processes to produce,
transform and transport materials — from the laboratory scale by
implementation of the technology to full-scale production. Chemi-
cal engineers are versatile professionals who are known to be
"the jack of all trades” because the chemical engineering disci-
pline is often used to describe a broad area of engineering. They
use the principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology,
and economics to efficiently use, produce, design, transport and
transform energy and materials.
ChESS 2020 is the opportunity for the chemical engineer pro-
fessions, associated professions across a wide range of in-
dustries and students to gather and learn from each other by
providing a platform for the discussion of the latest advances
and best practices face the challenges of the 21st centu-
ry. With the theme “ChESS 2020: Breaking boundaries, Inte-
grating knowledge, Gearing up towards sustainability,” a show-
case of excellence in chemical engineering is fired up with the
mission to integrate knowledge in scaling up the present technol-
ogy and innovations.
