1 GENERAL ASSUMPTIONS

1.1.Causeways

The causeways basically consist of 62 spans (to Johor) and 70 spans (to Riau). The length of each
span is 40 m. The design is utilizing PCI girders (Prestressed Concrete I-girders) placed on pile caps.
Other components required for PCI girders are diaphragms and half concretes, shown in Fig 1.2
