CRRC-ASTS-NMML1-PC-F-736 Kinematic Envelope Calculation Specification (Detailed) - 05 (Without Any Color) PDF

This document provides the calculation for the kinematic envelope of the rolling stock for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1. It details the calculation basis, parameters, norms, and results. The key results are: 1. The maximum kinematic envelope for the rolling stock is 3200mm width and 5000mm height. 2. The maximum allowable speed when passing through platforms is 15km/h. 3. The maximum vehicle speed passing through the kinematic envelope with a 125km/h wind speed is 90km/h. 4. The selected pantograph model can meet the requirements within the calculated kinematic envelope and speed.

1 GENERAL
1.1 PURPOSE
This document provides the detailed calculation of kinematic envelope of NMML1 project
in accordance with the Kinematic Envelope (KE) on level tangent and curved track for
elevated section and depot areas given in the "Schedule of Dimensions-SOD" document in
Volume-V.

1.2 INTRODUCTION
The KE calculation has been done for level tangent and curve track for each type of car for

 For Platform KE, the tangent and curved track (R=1000m) working conditions (working
conditions 1 to 16) have been calculated in the following pages.
 With reference to clause 4.2 and 4.4, for curved track (R=1000m), additional
clearances in Platform KE have been considered as per the following details:
Section A-A, C-C, D-D and G-G are beyond centre pivots of bogies, hence, additional
clearance of 33mm due to End Throw has been taken into consideration. Section B-B
and F-F are between centre pivots of bogies, hence, additional clearance of 29mm
due to Mid Throw has been taken into consideration. While Section E-E is on the
centre pivot, no extra clearance has been considered.

6 CONCLUSION
6.1 MAXIMUM KE OF ROLLING STOCK
According to the calculation result and based on the maximum KE of working condition 4
for Normal KE, in which the vehicle operated on tangent track in 90 km/h with a wind
speed of 102km/h, the Maximum KE of Rolling Stock has been furnished. The maximum
KE of Rolling Stock shown in Figure 198 complies with the Platform KE except the door
step area.

Table 8 Minimum Clearance between Platform and Platform KE
Considering the extra clearance for curved track, the maximum speed passing through the
platform can be 90km/h with wind speed of 87km/h.

6.3 MAXIMUM VEHICLE SPEED PASSING THROUGH THE KE FOR PANTOGRAPH WITH
WIND SPEED OF 125KM/H
For Working Condition 7, there is infringement when the vehicle speed is 90km/h with wind
speed of 125km/h. The maximum kinematic envelopes have been calculated out for
vehicle speed below 90km/h, at intervals of 5 km/h with wind speed of 125km/h. According
to the calculation result, when the vehicle speed is 5km/h with wind speed of 125km, there
is still infringement. Refer to the Figure 199, the excess is 6.7mm. Thus, the vehicle shall
be stationary when the wind speed is 125km/h.

6.4 PANTOGRAPH SELECTION

The width of pantograph shown in Section E-E is 1950mm. As the calculation result shown
in Chapter 5, pantograph does not exceed the Normal KE and Platform KE except the
working condition 7 for Normal KE, which consider the wind speed as 125km/h. The
clearance between pantograph and Normal KE is show in table 9.
