Quiz #1: Write a short definition on the following Pinoy Balibol Terminology.

1. Sibat – a fast set on open spot.

2. Patong – happens when the offense place the attackers in same area to confuse
the block.
3. Puto- also known as “Dig”, the player was able to receive an opponent’s attack
that almost touches the ground.
4. Palo- also known as Spike, a powerful attack that incorporates jumping and hitting
the ball into the opponents court with one hand
5. Regalo- receiving a free ball that nearly touch the net which is an easy point to the
opponent.
6. Hulog – also known as drop ball, the setter purposely returns the ball over the net
to catch the opponent off-guard.
7. Sa-is/Sais-a back-row attack before the attack line.
8. Kamayin- also known a one arm dig or one arm layout, where the player dives
forward and get the ball with using flat part of palm with the arms extended.
Quiz #2: Explain the following Volleyball notation:
a. When to rotate- If your team wins the point when the other team is serving, then the
person in the front right moves to the right back, becoming the new server. If your team
is serving and you win a point, you do not rotate, but stay in the same position.
b. Switching position - Front row players stand near to the net and usually the ones who
block or hit, which is where opposite is at the left front, middle blocker at the middle front,
and right side hitter at the right front. Back row players are positioned in the middle or
back of the court and are responsible for digging or defense, wherein outside hitter is at
the left back, libero is at the middle back and setter is at the right back. When rotation
happens their location changes, for example the right side hitter moves to the location of
the setter which is the right back. All players rotate clockwise each time they win a point
or before they start to serve. Rallies happen fast, and you have to go to your position as
quickly as possible so that you can concentrate on the play instead of switching, but you
can’t switch too early, because you’ll get called out of rotation.

c. Go clockwise-it is the rotation going to your right, the person in the front right moves
to the right back, becoming the new server.
