ANSWERS TO DRAGNET ABSTRACT ONE

1. First Rule: The stroke number of the middle object determine how many times
the object to your right will be repeated
Second Rule: For the upper part of the diagram, the object at your right will be
displayed at the centre, for the lower part of the object, the object at the left will be
displayed at the centre.
Third Rule: The presence of strokes causes the repetition of the object at the
right (for the ones below) And on the left (for the ones above) to be repeated
Answer is C

2. First Rule: The Object at the centre is rotating clock wisely at an angle of 450
each time. So the right option could be B, E or F.
Second Rule: The line/stroke at the left bottom section is rotating clock wisely at
an angle of 450. B or E is the likely right option.
Third Rule: The open hemisphere at the bottom right is also rotating clock wisely
at an angle of 450
Answer is B

3. First Rule: Look at the object at the edges; they start the series where they are
positioned. So, A, D or E could be the right option.
Second Rule: The Others that follow them in the series are gotten by taking the
next object at the edge (moving clockwisely). Note: The right option must start
from the top, because it is in the upward section. Each series started based on its
positioning.
Answer is D

4. This question does not follow a clear cut path, but one can observe that the figure
is rotating anticlockwise, little by little, moving from the centre to the left.
Note: The circle shape start up a new series. Answer is C

5. First Rule: The figure at the edge appears in the triangle before it in the
anticlockwise direction.
Second Rule: Two out of three of the shapes inside the triangle must have the
same orientation with the main shape at the edge. Option B or D
Third Rule: The last shape out of the three in the triangle will take the orientation
of the shape at the edge directly adjacent it.
Answer is B

6. First Rule: Consider the shape horizontally; the black shapes subtract each other
from the left to the right to give the answer at the extreme right. 4-x=2. X is then
=2. The answer is usually placed where the figure is unshaded.
Answer is B

7. First Rule: The series are in 3 places, it starts from the 1 and ends in the 3
block. Another starts from the 4th position. The stroke at the middle develops from
being one to being two joined at the end, then being three. Then it starts from being
one again. C and D are likely answers.
Second Rule: The shape direction is moving in an anticlockwise direction, from
the right bottom to the left bottom to the top, and the triangle is changing colour
from white to black, from one box to another.
Answer is C

8. First Rule: The shapes at the centre are similar to the one they are directly
opposite to. A, B or C could be the answer
Second Rule: The shape above compared to the one directly opposite them
(below) are moving in an anti-clockwise direction of 900
Answer is C
9. First Rule: The shapes at the edges take position at the centre by moving two
steps in the clockwise direction. B, D or E is the likely answer.
Second Rule: Notice the right shape, it is a flat base at one end and a black
stroke at the centre. Answer is D

10. First Rule: The small circle is moving clockwise direction, and after each
movement, it changes direction from white to black. B or D could be the right
option
Second Rule: The series is taken in 3 places. The first series is an increment of
one more box each. Another series start from the 4th box with a decrease of one box
each.
Answer is D

11. First Rule: The number of times the X appears at the edge of a triangle is the
number of times the stroke will be placed on the line. A, C, D or E could be the
answers.
Second Rule: The stroke takes position on either side of the line based on how
it is placed (up and down). The X down at the edge take position at the left of the
stroke, the ones up take position at the right.
Answer is A

12. This question does not follow a clear cut path, but one can observe that the
figure is rotating anticlockwise, little by little, moving from the centre to the left.
Note: The circle shape start up a new series.
Answer is C

13. First Rule: The triangular shaped structure is moving in a clockwise direction
at an angle of 450. C or D
Second Rule: The other structure (not the triangular one) always take two
position on the left side and one on the right (i.e. when the series is considered
vertically)
Answer is D

14. First Rule: The figure at the extreme left is inverted at the extreme right. A, B
or D could be the right option.
Second Rule: The strokes at the centre are re-arranged round the figure at the
extreme right.
Answer is C

15. First Rule: Consider the box in a vertical section. The shapes inside each of the
box are moving in a clockwise direction. C or F
Second Rule: Consider the figure in a horizontal section. It is either 2black or
1plain or 2black
Answer is C

ANSWERS TO DRAGNET ABSTRACT TWO

1. Rule: Observe the figures in a horizontal section, you will see that the first
section is divided into two halves; the second row is divided into three different
sections, where two are similar.
Answer is B

2. First Rule: Observe the square below and above at the extreme left of each
section. From one box to another, the small square alternate from being plain to
being black (both above and below)
Second Rule: Observe also that in each box there are only six shapes (not less,
not more). So the likely answers could be C or E.
Third rule: Anytime you have a black shape below, you have either one circle or
three circles adjacent it. White shapes always have two circles adjacent to it.
Answer is C

3. Consider the figure in a horizontal section, observe that each horizontal section
has one shaded figure, one crossed figure and one plain figure.
Answer is F

4. First Rule: The shape at the edges follow a pattern, the ones opposite the other
(i.e. the edge) are smaller or bigger replica of the other.
Second Rule: The ones in the middle follow the same rule
Answer is A

http://gsesolutions.blogspot.com
6. First Rule : The triangular shape on each block, change orientation from one
block to another. The triangle at the left bottom change orientation by moving 90 0
in an anti clockwise direction. C, D, E or F could be the right option.
Second Rule : The circle at the centre changes colour from blank to plain from
one block to another. The next should be white. C or F is a likely answer.
Third Rule : The circle at the extreme right (top section) changes from black to
plain from one block to another.
Answer is C

7. First Rule: The stroke number of the middle object determine how many times
the object to your right will be repeated
Second Rule: For the upper part of the diagram, the object at your right will be
displayed at the centre, for the lower part of the object, the object at the left will be
displayed at the centre.
Third Rule: The presence of strokes causes the repetition of the object at the
right(for the ones below) And on the left(for the ones above) to be repeated
Answer is C

8. Rule: The pattern follows from just a single dot at the centre to a circle and an X
shaped figure at the extreme ends, back to a circle at the centre and then an X-
shaped figure inside a circle, positioned at the base of an edge.
Following this pattern, the next figure will be C
Answer is C

11. First Rule: The colour of the P-figure is what is reflected in the shape inside the
triangle next to it (in a clockwise direction). Right option could be either D of F.
Second Rule: The P-figure is changing direction each time from being
clockwise to being anti-clockwise.
Answer is D

12. First Rule: Look at the object at the edges, they start the series where they are
positioned. So, A, D or E could be the right option.
Second Rule: The Others that follow them in the series are gotten by taking the
next object at the edge(moving clockwisely). Note: The right option must start from
the top, because it is in the upward section. Each series started based on it’s
positioning.
Answer is D

13. First Rule: The figure at the extreme left is inverted at the extreme right. A, B
or D could be the right option.
Second Rule: The strokes at the centre are re-arranged round the figure at the
extreme right.
Answer is C

Answer is D
15. First Rule: The dark figure at the outer square re-appears in the inner section by
making an anti-clockwise movement (two steps forward)
Second Rule: That same figure in its new position takes a 900 turn
Answer is C

16a. First Rule: The small circle is moving clockwise direction, and after each
movement, it changes direction from white to black. B or D could be the right
option
Second Rule: The series is taken in 3 places. The first series is an increment of
one more box each. Another series start from the 4th box with a decrease of one box
each.
Answer is D

16b. First Rule: The triangles with a stroke appear at the outer region for the ones
below and appear at the inner region for the ones above.
Second Rule: The triangle with a stroke take the opposite colour of the little
figure at the extreme edge, but the ones above, take the same colour as the one at
the extreme edge.
