Characteristics of Indonesian People


Indonesian are people who live in the Indonesian archipelago. There are a lot of ethnic
groups in Indonesia.
The diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia shows the character of Indonesians.
Indonesians are known for their humility and respect to others. Humility is important for
Indonesians because when seeing and interacting with others we need to be humble.

Being a humble person means we treat all people with respect, especially when we
need to work with them. We also need to be friendly. We are happy when people are friendly.
It is the same with them. Other will like us if we are friendly.
Look around you. Look at your classmate. We will see the differences around you from
their skin tone, hair style and their nose shape.
Probably in your class you have friends who don’t hold the same religion. Or probably
they come from different ethnic groups. You should not see all those differences as problem. It
is interesting to hear different stories from different people.
