12.1 Consider a project Gantt chart with the following conditions

(see Figure 12.22). Susan is your only programmer

and she is responsible for Activities 3 and 4, which overlap.

In resource-leveling the project so that Susan is only

working a maximum of 8 hours each day, what would the

new Gantt chart look like? What would be the new project

completion date?

A: The duration in days is with 8 hours per day.

Susan is the only programmer currently working on both activity 3 and 4; these activities cannot overlap
and need to be in series.

Activity 4 needs to be postponed by 2 days. With the new start state being Thursday, July 3.

Thereafter activity 6 starts after the completion of both 4 and 6 – with the new start date for 6 being set
one-day layer.

The new project completion should be the date Thursday, July 10 th.

13.1 Using the following data, enter the various tasks and create a Gantt chart using MS Project. Assign
the individuals responsible for each activity, and once you have completed the network, update it with
the percentage complete tool. What does the MS Project output file look like?
13.2 Now, suppose we assign costs to each of the resources in the following amounts:

Create the resource usage statement for the project as of the most recent update. What are project
expenses per task to date?
