PURPOSE:
 To ensure that the employees are provided necessary training to perform their assigned
functions effectively.
SCOPE:
 Applicable to all employee of Punjab General Industries Private Limited , supporting
process(s) and subscribe whose activities, effecting quality of product, material
planning, logistics and environment & safety concerned.

RESPONSIBILITY:
 HOD –HR
 Department Heads

INPUTS
 Training needs identified by respective HOD and those identified as per competency
requirements are the inputs to the process.

RESOURCES / INFORMATION:
 In house / external training faculty, suggestions from employees, technology
development etc

PROCEDURE:

 Induction/Orientation Training:

 At the time of joining of new entrants in the organization, awareness about


different departments of organization is provided.
 By introducing the new entrants with HODs of all the departments of the
organization.

 On Job Training(OJT):

 Training Calendar is made on the basis of Skill Gap Analysis, Customer Complaints
(both Internal & External) & on HOD’s recommendations, when made of all deptts,
accordingly Trainings are provided & reviewed.
 Provide on the job training to person who is assigned new job, modify job affecting
quality, environment & safety concern for all type of person including contractor(s)
labor.

 Beside other training content, informed to person performing job about potential
consequence for customer, end user, and our self& interested parties if departed
from specified operating procedure / work instruction / specifications.

 Refresher or Skill Development Trainings


 Training list is provided by the HODs of different departments in a year.
 Yearly Training Schedule is made and reviewed at the end of year
 Trainings are conducted as per Training Schedule.
 Oral/Written Tests are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

 HOD HR Along with Department HODs shall decide the training schedule for
providing the identified training. The training may be given with the help of
outside faculty or with the help of internal faculty in the organization.

 Training to be conducted by following any one of the two types.

 Training which essentially result in theoretical knowledge. This will have an impact
on the long term improvement within the organization.

 Training related to the practical functional aspects within the organization i.e.
Problem Solving, House Keeping, Cost Reduction, etc.

 The impact of these trainings is likely to be evident in near future typically over a
month time.

 Effectiveness of Training

 Effectiveness of category (I)training will be monitored by a written test.


Qualification criteria for effective training is min. 70% of the trainee group members,
scoring at least 60% marks.

 Effectiveness of category (2)training will be monitored through a training


assessment .

 Could be Performance indicator data or visual assessment whichever may be


applicable

 Training Needs Identification:

 HOD-HR & MR receives the necessary Competency Criteria from Respective


HODs.
 Training Need is indentified by the HODs of respective departments through
Performance Appraisal for staff category. For workmen, skill gap analysis is carried
out with the help of Skill Matrix.
 The training programmer is made on quarterly basis. More emphasis is given to
Unskilled & Semi-Skilled personnel for developing their potential job knowledge,
safety and environment awareness & capability.
 The evaluation or effectiveness of training performance will be done by adopting
Rating System through questionnaire, verbal test.
 Re-training is done for those who are found to be not qualified through evaluation of
Training performance.
 Training effectiveness to be 70%& the same is maintained for further evaluation
 Training of 8 Hrs / Annum to worker to be provided & the same shall be monitored .
