Motherhood of Mary
(1st Reflection)

“May it be born from our own flesh or not not as long

as they were born on our hearts we could be a mother”.
Many lessons , insights and discoveries could an
individual discover from this topic. And for me he lesson
it thought me is “acceptance” that being a mother does
not only mean giving birth to a child but it also mean
accepting the child on your womb wholeheartedly, that
even it came from happy or miserable way, even the father
of your child is not the one you love every mother should
accept their child, because child is a precious gift to a
woman from above. My perception for this topic the
Motherhood of Mary is, Mary was truly the Mother of God
for she gave birth to our God as she also gave birth to
our salvation Jesus Christ. Mary also consider His Mother
for she was the one carry the child on her womb and gave
Jesus a human figure. But I discover that Mary could not
be His Mother because Jesus pertains to the second or the
son in the Holy Trinity. Since Holy Trinity pertain to
one then Jesus was also the Father and the Holy Spirit,
so some of us could assume that Mary could not be His
mother but I strongly believed that Mary was the Mother
of God since she gave birth and give Jesus a genetic
matter.

Perpetual Virginity of Mary

(2nd Reflection)

“One’s virginity does no define women value”. here in

the Second Dogma: “Mary, Virgin and Ever Virgin” says
that Mary was a virgin before and at the time of the
birth of her son Jesus Christ. I learned in he 2nd dogma
that believed on what you feel is right and not on what
will others think or will say. Archangel Gabriel could
represent cupid for me, for he became a way of God for
Joseph to take Mary and with her child through the Holy
Spirit. That Mary didn’t cheat instead she was blessed by
the Holy Spirit. I could reflect myself to the both of
them Mary and Joseph. In the side of Mary I could see
myself accepting the will of God, that if it is for me
then I will gladly accept it even I couldn’t understand
why it happen to me. As for Joseph I could reflect in the
way that I should not judged or questioned other people
easily for they have a reason why it happened to them or
why did they do such thing. So on this topic I discover
that Mary remained virgin for he rest of her life as many
Catholic Christians say with acceptable reason. While I
thought that Mary could make love to Joseph for she was
his husband but I am wrong. I am also enlighten when
Ulrich Zwingli said that “I firmly believed that Mary,
according to the words of Gospel as a pure virgin brought
forth for us the Son of God and in childbirth forever
remained a pure intact virgin” because of that statement
I could tell that Mary was truly a virgin until the day
she leaved this place.

Immaculate Conception
(3rd Reflection)

“We are all born sinners”, “No one is perfect” and

“All of us commit sins for it is already in the Human
nature”. the Third Dogma or he Immaculate Conception of
Mary says hat God preserved Mary from any inclination to
sin particularly from the original sin or a sin of
disobeying our God. Mary and Jesus Christ serve as the
New Eve and Adam for they were the only one obey and
follow what is God’s will and live their lives following
the word of God. The New Eve set ups as a model and
ideal, both for admiration and imitation all of us. This
topic taught me he importance of obeying and following
the God’s will for He just want what is the best for our
sake. But since I’m just a ordinary human I commit this
original sin, and I could only redempt myself on this sin
if I will ask forgiveness and repent on every sin that I
do or will I do. Blessed Virgin Mary was truly full of
grace and have an Immaculate heart. I discover that Mary
did not do anything hat is displeasing to the eye of our
Lord, that Immaculate Conception means that more than
sinless birth where she also give birth to the New Adam
which is Jesus Christ. Yes, all of us commit different
sin but we should repent from our sins and embrace God.

Our Lady of Assumptions

(4th Reflection)

Our Lady of Assumption is a feast celebrate the

beliefs that God assumed the Virgin Mary into Heaven
following her death it is also called the Assumption of
the Blessed Virgin, the Dormition of the most Holy Mother
of God, or the feast of the Assumption. This feast
celebrated every 15th day of August. I learned that our
home is indeed not the Earth, this mortal, perishable,
sin-infested valley of tears. That God in this changeless
eternity foreknow us, fashioned us for Himself, and
placed us in the Garden of his world to till it and kept
it, until he time we are already ready to advance to the
garden of which this world is a dim shadow, or to be
thrust definitively out of all gardens because of our
sloth, disobedience, and he call of our maker. I could
reflect on this that living on the Earth is like going to
school that there is an end which is also like our death.
Like in a school our teacher teach us, mold us, and
guide us to be ready to a new journey once we were
already graduate and Mary could be the best student among
all of us, where she was the only one who listened and
obey as she received the word of God and gave Him freely
to the world and the teacher here is God. I discover that
this feast day talks about the immense dignity of the
Human body, a temple of the Holy Spirit which we should
never defile through unchastity or impurity. I discover
also that our body is not that makes us a human or that
in a virtue of which we became God’s children instead it
is our spiritual that gives life to the body and through
the sacraments, we received the gift of sanctifying
grace.

Mary Mother of the Church

(5th Reflection)

From what family do we belong? Who is the Mother of

that family? When do we became a part of it? Many
questions can an individual could ask but this three
primary questions could lead to several questions or
answers an realization for it’s the building block to
answer the following question we have in mind. From the
first question, what large family we belong? Answer for
this is “Church” so what is church, Church was he home of
our God, it is a home for all of us especially for us
sinners. This is where all of us repent for our sins and
ask for forgiveness and seek and embrace Jesus Christ.
Next who is the Mother of that family? Simply it is Mary
alone, the time she said to Father Almighty that she is
willing to be the Mother of our Lord , also the time she
became the Mother of the Church. As Mary was he Mother of
Christ’s physical body, she is also the Mother of His
Mystical Body which is the Church of which we are the
members of it. While in Roman Mariology Mary was given
the title “Mother of the Church” by the Second Vatican
Council through Pope Paul VI, and said “For he Glory of
the Blessed Virgin and our consolation, we proclaim Mary
the Most Holy Mother of the Church, that is, the Mother
of the whole people of God both the faithful and the
pastors”. Lastly the last question when do we become a
member of the church. We became the member of the church
since we receive baptism, for us o be saved and to
receive God’s true gift of everlasting life in the
Kingdom of God when Jesus returns.
