Organization Structure of Indian Railways

The Indian Railways organization structure consists of the Minister of Railways overseeing the Railway Board and various zonal railways. The Railway Board is headed by the Chairman Railway Board and includes members overseeing staff, traffic, engineering, signaling & telecom, rolling stock, materials management, and financial matters. Below the Railway Board are 17 zonal railways divided by regions, production units, public sector enterprises, and other units like the National Academy of Indian Railways. The zonal railways are each headed by a General Manager.
