ACTIVITY:
1. On a piece of paper, draw a picture of
your image of God (E.g God as your
father, provider, mentor, distant, or
punisher, etc)
2. At the back of your drawing, list down
ways of how you can deepen your
relationship with God

• Each of us has our own image of God. Our image of God
reflects the kind of relationship we have with Him

• To begin or have a relationship with God is a pursuit. A


relationship is always a two-way process. We do not simply
wait for God but we also take the initiative on how to be
closer to Him
UNDERSTANDING THE ACTIVITY
5 simple ways to deepen our relationship with God (from
Archbishop Charles J. Chaput)

1. Cultivate silence and start listening to Him intently.


Listening allows us to hear God. Listening also means
silence, eliminating “noises” within and around us.
2. Seek humility, exercise honesty. Humility is to recognize
that we are nothing before God. When we are able to
exercise humility and honesty, we allow God do wonders in
our life.
UNDERSTANDING THE ACTIVITY
3. Seek to be holy. Holiness requires concrete actions. Let us
spend more time in the sacraments especially the sacraments
of Penance and the Holy Eucharist as these pour grace into
our lives.
4. Read and pray. Prayer connects us with God. Scripture
reveals the truth about God. We encounter God in prayer and
in the Holy scriptures.
5.Nobody makes it to heaven alone. Man is a social being.
This means we all need friendship and community. Let us
grow in our relationship with one another
