Load Calculation

This document contains calculations for loads from a crane to crane brackets in a 220kV GIS hall. It calculates the dead load from the self-weight of the crane and the live load from the crane capacity and hoist weight. For the dead load, the maximum load on each bracket is 1.529 tons with a concentrated moment of 11.5 kN-m. For the live load, the maximum load on each bracket is 4.916 tons with a concentrated moment of 36.9 kN-m and an additional moment of 3.69 kN-m due to horizontal surge.

Loads from Crane to Crane brackets due to Self Weight of crane for 220kV GIS Hall (DEAD LOAD)
Self Wt of crane acting at the centre = 4 T
The crane is supported by a total of four wheels, two wheels on either side
C/C distance between two wheels = 1.8 m
Maximum load on each wheel = 1 T i.e 4/2/2

For calculating maximum load over the crane bracket considered the maximum span of 3.825 m and loaded as shown

Therefore maximum load on bracket = 1.529 T

Loads from Crane to Crane brackets due to crane capacity and Hoist weight for 220kV GIS Hall (LIVE LOAD)
Span of crane = 10.77 m

Hoist weight = 0.45 T
crane capacity + Hoist weight after accounting for 30 % impact
(5+0.45)*1.3 = 7.085 T 7.09 T
