PURPOSE
The “RAPIDA” system is an inverter motor that can be fitted on Doseuro pumps and that can proportionally manage
the machine speed by adjusting the motor frequency in a range from 6Hz to 60Hz, besides managing a series of
alarms. Its operation can be implemented remotely (REMOTE) using a proportional current signal of 4-20mA and
locally (LOCAL) using the related keypad on the motor.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
 Power supply 230V ±15% - 1Ph. 50/60Hz.
 Remote signal 4-20mA (power supply 9-36V dc) for motor speed control between “off”-4mA and 60Hz.-20mA
 Local control 6-60Hz. / 0-100% that can be split using a potentiometer and on/off keypad
 2 INPUTS can be configured as NO (standard) and NC (potential-free contact) for services installation (level
switch, pressure switch etc.) sending alarm signal and “stop” intervention on the motor
 1 INPUT can be configured as NO (standard) and NC (potential-free contact) for services installation (level
switch, pressure switch etc.) only sending alarm signal and without intervention on the motor
 1 OUTPUT NO/NC potential-free for sending alarm signal to the panel

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

It is greatly recommended to carefully read this manual before installing and starting the Inverter motor and to
carefully follow the safety instructions.

The information related to safety is highlighted using two symbols defining the danger:

Caution symbol
It is necessary for the installer or the Motor inverter user to pay attention to situations that may lead to minor
physical risks and /or damage to the product

DANGER symbol
It is necessary for the installer or the Motor inverter user to pay particular attention to situations that may lead to
serious physical risks and death

How to use the Inverter motor safely

Danger of electrical shock. The Inverter motor is connected to high voltage electrical lines. Carry out all
installation operations only with the power disconnected.

The Inverter motor must be installed and serviced by specialised personnel only, using an isolated platform.

4/16
DOSEURO®

The Inverter motor must be powered by a line protected by power surge, short circuit and earthing devices in
compliance with the provisions laid down by the safety regulations, even if the earth leakage current is less than 3.5
mA AC or 10 mA in DC.

The Motor inverter must be powered after closing the cover.

After switching off the Inverter motor, the components maintain potentially dangerous voltage levels. Before
carrying out any maintenance operation, wait at least ten minutes.

The Inverter motor is generally used to move mechanical parts. The responsibility of the user is to guarantee
that these mechanical movements do not lead to dangerous situations.

Earthing connections

It is forbidden to use the Inverter motor without adequate earthing connections.

 The earthing terminal of the electric motor must always be connected to the earthing terminal of the Inverter
motor (PE)

 The earthing cable of the power supply cable must always be connected to the earthing terminal of the Inverter
motor (PE).

 The earthing cable of the cover must always be connected to the earthing terminal of the Inverter motor (PE).

 Keep the earthing cable of the Inverter motor separate from other electric devices and do not create any mass
loop.

Protection fuses

The Inverter motor does not use protection fuses for power surges and short-circuits.

Generally Inverter motors that are not equipped with fuses must be powered using power surge, short circuit
and earthing protection devices in compliance with safety standards and regulations, for example using circuit breaker
switches, automatic switches for residual current.

The following fuses are recommended

condensation when the PDS is not in operation.
3 Conductive or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to the envisaged condensation.
4 Conductive or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to the envisaged condensation.

Overvoltage categories

 Category IV is applied to equipment permanently connected to the external electrical mains (upstream from the
main panel).
 Category III is applied to equipment that is not permanently connected to fixed installations (downstream or
included in the main electrical mains).
 Category II is applied to equipment that is not permanently connected to fixed installations.
 Category I is applied to equipment connected to a circuit where steps have been taken in order to reduce the low
level transitional voltage peaks.

DRIVER OVERVIEW

This Inverter motor controls the speed and power of the electric motors by using the V / F control method. Different
input functions and operating modes are available within the “user parameter” setting (U12)

The Inverter motor is powered by a standard single-phase + neutral 230V power line.

The Inverter motor can power electrical motors with a rated current as defined on the label of the driver.
Consider that the maximum allowed overload for the Inverter motor corresponds to 150% of its rated current for a
maximum duration of 60 s.

Keyboard display mode

When it is not in “monitor mode” the display shows the top frequency of the Inverter motor.

As an alternative to the value in Hz, the top frequency can be displayed as a percentage 0-100% between Fmin and
Fmax, in this case all 4 digits are shown with initial “0” for a speed less than 100%.
To switch between these 2 display modes, press and hold the Stop key for more than 5 seconds until the display mode
changes. This setting is not saved when the system is turned off.

START-UP ON AND FIRST USE

The inverter is set by Doseuro to work in local mode (LOCAL) at a frequency of 50Hz. at the first start-up. Once the
electrical connections contained in the “INVERTER SUPPLY CARD TERMINAL CONNECTIONS” chapter are completed
and the machine is turned on, it will show the operating frequency on the display and it can be started/stopped using
the keys RUN and STOP, the operating frequency can be changed immediately using the UP(increase) and
DOWN(decrease) keys, both during operation and during a stop.

9/16
DOSEURO®

For remote operation using the panel, PLC or 4-20mA signal generator (REMOTE), refer to the “PARAMETER SETUP”
chapter.

PARAMETER SETUP

In STOP or ALARM state the user can change the parameter setup.
To access the user menu using the EIM keyboard, press the UP and STOP keys at the same time, select the password
using the UP and DOWN keys and confirm by pressing the START key.
Please note that the factory default password is P000. It is recommended to change it in order to prevent
unauthorised parameter modifications.

These sets of parameters are indicated with the letter "U xx" where xx is the parameter index.

Using the UP or DOWN keys you can change the parameter index in a circular manner and with START you enter the
set of the current parameter, the value in memory appears and the user can change this value using the UP or DOWN
keys.
Using START you can save the new data and return to the index section (U xx).
Using STOP you can cancel saving a parameter that is being modified and exit SETUP.

LIST OF PARAMETERS THAT CAN BE USED BY THE USER:

USER MENU
Parameter Parameter name Description Unit of measure Default Min Max
U12 REF Reference and operational speed - 13 0 15
U15 PASSUT User menu password - 123 000 999

All work frequencies set are limited by Fmin and Fmax values set in the Manufacturer menu, not available to the final
user.

INPUT
The INPUTS are potential-free contacts, to be used for connection to services such as level switches, pressure
switches, etc. and act on the inverter control in START and STOP, sending an alarm to the terminal OUTPUT. For the
electrical connection, see the “INVERTER SUPPLY CARD TERMINAL CONNECTIONS”.

The basic configuration involves the inputs being set at the factory as NO (normally open) and work enabling RUN
and/or alarm.
The IN1 input enables RUN if it is disabled and when activated it sends the motor in STOP mode. If IN1 is activated
then RUN is inhibited and the output on the relay for sending the alarm signal is activated.
The IN2 input enables RUN if it is disabled and when activated it sends the motor in STOP mode. If IN2 is activated
then RUN is inhibited and the output on the relay for sending the alarm signal is activated.
The IN3 input does not affect the motor RUN however, if it is active, in any case it acts on the relay to send the alarm signal.
The input contacts can be used at the same time.
In case of intervention of the IN1-IN2 contacts, and resulting driver operation block once the input returns to the
original configuration, the motor restart operation changes depending on whether it is in LOCAL or REMOTE mode.
LOCAL mode: the driver does not restart so it is necessary to start it using the START button (that works as
alarm reset)
REMOTE mode: the driver restarts without further commands

OUTPUT
The OUTPUT contact is a potential-free contact, to be used to send an alarm signal remotely (panel or PLC). For the
electrical connection see the “INVERTER SUPPLY CARD TERMINAL CONNECTIONS” chapter; it is wired using the COM
(common) terminal and the NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) terminal depending on the requirements.

The relay on the output supplies a COM-NO-NC contact and is activated in any of the following 4 cases:
- driver in alarm (A1-A12) – see chapter “ALARM DISPLAY”
- I1 active

10/16
DOSEURO®

- I2 active
- I3 active

OPERATION
The Inverter motor can work in two ways.

LOCAL mode or from keypad

It is selected in PARAMETER SETUP from the U12=13 parameter (standard mode at first start-up).
Pressing the START key makes the machine go into RUN mode, the motor starts and the green LED turns on, pressing
STOP makes it stop and the red LED turns on.
The operating frequency can be changed incrementally and decrementally using the UP and DOWN keys of the digital
potentiometer, the change of the output frequency is immediate and also works during the machine stop.

Remotely (REMOTE) or with external potentiometer

It is selected in PARAMETER SETUP from the U12=14 parameter.
It accepts an analogue input 4/20mA (powered 9-36 Vdc) and proportionally modulates the rotation frequency (4mA
corresponding to 6Hz and motor in STOP, 20mA corresponds to 60Hz and motor in RUN). The effective system start
takes place at a value of 4.1mA, it does not require any further start command.
For safety, in remote mode any action is blocked on the local keypad with the exception of displaying operational
frequency and the MONITOR-INVERTER by pressing the UP+DOWN keys at the same time (see “MONITOR-INVERTER”
chapter).

MONITOR-INVERTER
The MONITOR-INVERTER function is a simple control function and does not allow any type of setting, it simply makes
it possible to monitor a series of setting parameters or parameters inside the driver.

By pressing the UP and DOWN keys at the same time the user decides to enter the MONITOR mode.
From MONITOR mode, by pressing UP and DOWN together, you return to the reference frequency (o % if set in
LOCAL mode).
Within the MONITOR menu, using the individual UP or DOWN keys you can scroll the following parameters:

DIAGNOSTICS
Parameter Description Unit of Measure
H0 Output electrical frequency Hz
H1 Average voltage of bus in DC V
H2 Average motor current A
H3 IGBT module or temperature of the heat dissipator °C

When an alarm is activated, the motor always stops and in certain cases the IGBT module is switched off.

In the event of an alarm, consider the following:

• If an alarm occurs in Run mode, the motor is disconnected and the keyboard indicates the active alarm (unless the
L14 parameter = 1)

• an alarm can always be reset manually by pressing the STOP key, but it may also be reactivated if the cause of the
alarm is still present

• When the memory alarm/error is detected (A7-A8-A9), the default values are loaded and the alarm is reset when
you enter one of the Setup menus

• The current alarm (A6) can only be reset by pressing the Stop key

• The overvoltage alarm (A1), the undervoltage alarm (A2) and the overload alarm (A4), are reset automatically
when the alarm condition disappears and the L14 parameter (Low level menu) is set to “1”

• The temperature alarm (A3) is restored automatically when the temperature reaches 5°C below the value that
activated the alarm;

• switching off resets all alarms.

Motordriver and Alarm status

It is possible to diagnose the status of the Inverter motor, even without having the keyboard connected

2 LEDs show the status of the control supply card:

 The red status LED indicates the status and the alarm of the Inverter motor
