 ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to enhance learners’ understanding on the
Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) in Malaysia.

REQUIREMENT
Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) have been established by the government to
complement the services offered by commercial banks in Malaysia. The SIX DFIs
governed by the Development Financial Institutions Act 2002 include Bank Kerjasama
Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Rakyat), Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB),
Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (Agrobank), Small Medium Enterprise Development
Bank Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank), Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), and Export-Import
Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank).

The assignment should highlight the following aspects:

 Discussion on the background of each of the DFIs;
 Explanation of the role of each of the DFIs;
 Explanation of the products and services offered by each of the DFIs;
 Analysis of the assets and liabilities of each of the DFIs;
 Comparison between the DFIs; and
 Write the summary of the assignment.

TUJUAN
Tujuan tugasan ini adalah untuk mempertingkatkan pemahaman pelajar berkenaan
Institusi Kewangan Pembangunan (DFI) di Malaysia.

KEPERLUAN
Institusi Kewangan Pembangunan (DFI) telah ditubuhkan oleh kerajaan untuk melengkapi
perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan oleh bank-bank komersial di Malaysia. ENAM DFI yang
tertakluk di bawah Akta Institusi Kewangan Pembangunan 2002 termasuk Bank
Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Rakyat), Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad
(BPMB), Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (Agrobank), Bank Perusahaan Kecil dan
Sederhana Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank), Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), dan Export-
Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank).

Tugasan perlu menekankan aspek-aspek yang berikut:

 Perbincangan berkenaan latar belakang setiap satu DFI tersebut;
 Penerangan tentang peranan setiap satu DFI tersebut;
 Penerangan tentang produk-produk dan perkhidmatan-perkhidmatan yang
