SAFETY/SECURITY CONCERNS
MSF’s primary mandate is to bring medical assistance to populations in danger in
emergency situations. These situations involve different risks according to the
context in which our humanitarian intervention takes place.
To this end, MSF has put in place strict security protocols. These are a set of rules
and procedures to which volunteers and local staff must adhere for the duration of
their mission. They take into account the nature of the risks facing MSF personnel in
the field and establish instructions to follow in case of being faced with various
threats and security concerns.
Appropriate volunteer behaviour and attitude always remain the best safeguard.
