MANDARIN ROLE PLAY SCRIPT

1)NAD: Good afternoon Natasha! Have not seen you for a long time, how are you?

1)TASHA: I am fine , thank you, how about you?

2)NAD: I am fine too, Natasha , who’s this?

2)TASHA: This is my little sister, ATHIRAH. She’s 19 years old this year.

1)ATHIRAH: Hi, my name is Athirah. Nice to meet you.

3)NAD: I am very happy to meet you too, where do you study at?

2)THIRAH: I study at Universiti Teknologi MARA at Sarawak.

4)NAD: Oh that’s good. Meet my good friend, Najla.

3)TASHA: Hi Najla, are you a student too?

1)NAJLA: Hi! No, I am working as a doctor. I work at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

3)ATHIRAH: Wahh, I want to be a doctor too!

2)NAJLA: You can if you study hard!

5)NAD: Where do you guys stay?

4)TASHA: Athirah and I are staying at Ipoh with our family.

3)NAJLA: How many people are there in your house?

4)ATHIRAH: My house has 5 people.

4)NAJLA: Who stays in your house?

5)ATHIRAH: My house has mom, dad , 2 elder brothers, 1 elder sister and me.

5)TASHA: Najla, do you have a boyfriend? You are so pretty and smart!

5)NAJLA: Thank you. Yes I do have a boyfriend. His name is Adam and he’s a doctor too.

6)NAD: She is getting married to him next year.

6)ATHIRAH: Wow! Congratulations!

6)NAJLA: Thank you. For tomorrow, are you guys free?

6)TASHA: What is the date tomorrow?

7)NAD: Tomorrow is May 22. It’s also Najla’s birthday. And tomorrow we are free.

7)TASHA: Oh ..Do you guys like karaoke and movies?

7) NAJLA: Yes, we like karaoke-ing and movies! Are you guys treating me as a birthday present? 😊

7)ATHIRAH: Sure! Tomorrow at 6.00pm we meet at AEON shopping mall. After karaoke, lets go
watch a movie too.
8)NAD: Ok! But, I need to be home at 11.00pm because I need to do revisions since tomorrow I’ll be
having examination.

ALL: Ok!

At AEON Shopping mall (after karaoke-ing)

8)ATHIRAH: That was fun! Now, let’s go to the cinema!

8)NAJLA: Ok! What movie do you guys want to watch?

8)TASHA: Have you guys watched “Haikyuu!”? It’s an Anime film.

9)NAD: Najla and I haven’t. What about you guys?

9)ATHIRAH: We haven’t as well.

9)NAJLA: Ok let’s go watch that!

ALL: Ok!

At AEON shopping mall (after watching the movie)

9)TASHA: That was a good movie!

10)NAJLA: Do you guys always watch movies together?

10)ATHIRAH: Nope. I rarely watch movies because I’m always busy with my studies. But, I’m free till
this Monday.

10)NAD: Me too! Do you guys want to watch another movie this Saturday?

11)NAJLA: Ok! My shift would end at 5.00pm. Is it okay if we meet up at 6.00pm?

10)TASHA: Sure. Athirah and I would be free at that time. Right, little sister (Athirah)?

11) ATHIRAH: Yes! Elder sis (Tasha) , I’m hungry. Can we have our dinner now?

11) TASHA: Ok. Let’s go to a restaurant together. Do you guys (Nad&Najla) want to join?

11) NAD: No thank you. It’s already late for both of us. We’ll see you guys again this Saturday!

12) ATHIRAH: Ok. Thank you and bye guys! Goodluck for your test Nad!

12) NAD: Thank you. We’re going off now. Bye!

12) NAJLA: It was nice meeting you guys. And thank you for treating me. Goodbye!

12) TASHA: It was nice meeting you guys too. And you’re welcome Najla. Goodbye!
