Dear Sir/ Madam,


I was very glad when I saw this particular opportunity to apply for a
Master program in Structural Engineering and Building Technology with
this letter I would like to express my strong motivation for this master
course.
I completed my undergraduate program in civil engineering from
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2001.
The emphasis of my study was to understand the fundamental and basic
civil engineering. In this education, I’ve learned about the most basic
principles that are used in nowadays in structural engineering and learned
to use analysis software based on finite element methods. I designed
different types of civil engineering structures, supervised those during
construction and used my in depth knowledge to face challenges and to
provide solutions as well. I worked in different types of projects in the
sector of civil engineering like buildings, culvert and footbridges, telecom
tower foundation, multilevel basement construction, structural
strengthening of existing structures, steel building design and construction
etc.

Immediately after getting the degree I joined myself as a civil engineer in


a project funded by Asian Development Bank where I designed canal
and culvert structures successfully. After that, I worked for different
organisations and gathered many practical field level experiences in civil
and structural engineering works. I always kept myself in touch with
study and maintained a team work strategy with other professionals.
Our country is a developing one and going through progressive
infrastructural development in a very challenging environment. Due to
our soft ground condition we badly need advance type of civil
engineering application requiring more advance analysis which needs in-
depth study and analytical capability.
I have gone through your institute website and gathered knowledge
about your teaching patterns. I have an ardent desire to participate in
your teaching programme. It will be a privilege to study, work and
develop post graduate thesis and to learn from professors with great
experiences in theory and practice from the department of Architecture
and Civil Engineering
After careful overview of the master program you are offering at your
University, I believe that the curricula fully suits my needs. Therefore I
would like to get an opportunity to attend this program.
As I understand, this programme is very competitive, attracting highly
motivated students, I am confident that my academic record at my
previous university and professional experience over the past eighteen
years put me in a strong position as a candidate for admission to your
highly esteemed university. At the same time I am aware of possible
challenges and high investments of effort I will have to place in order to
successfully complete this course. Therefore I would be honoured if you
decide to accept my candidateship for master’s studies.
I firmly believe that if I could get a chance to cultivate my potentiality in
your university that will definitely satisfy my thirst for higher study and it’s
a unique opportunity for me to get such kind of offer from an advanced
country like Sweden.
Once again I am grateful for considering my application and I look
