larvicides used against insect eggs and larvae, respectively. Insecticides are used in
major factor behind the increase in agricultural 20th century's productivity. Nearly all
insecticides have the potential to significantly alter ecosystems; many are toxic to
humans; some concentrate along the food chain.Insecticides can be classified in two
major groups: systemic insecticides, which have residual or long-term activity; and
three types of insecticide. Natural insecticides, such as nicotine, pyrethrum and neem
extracts, made by plants as defenses against insects. Inorganic insecticides, which are
metals. Organic insecticides, which are organic chemical compounds, mostly working
by contact.
The chili pepper, or suing labuyo as many of us know it, is a favorite spice
of many people around the world, including the Philippines. There are people who
cannot eat anything without the taste of real hot pepper. Pepper have health-sustaining
properties as well. They have been found to have rich Vitamin A and C contents. Here
in the Philippines, even the leaves of the chili pepper are eaten as a vegetable. The
goal of this project is to find out if aqueous extract from chili pepper leaves have any
this research proves to be successful, there can now be an alternative solution to this
problem and it is also possible that it can be used in the fight against another insect
pest. This research will only test the leaves of the chili pepper for insecticidal properties.
Only one concertation of the solution will use for testing. The chemical contents of the
extract will not be determined. The extract will only be tested on termites.
Safety defines much of the home life, and pesticides do an impeccable work of
endangering it. With the influx of insecticides and anti-pest products in the markettoday
(and the easy access that comes with the trade), exposure has just become alooming
prospect. One fact of life is that apart from your family, you’re sharing your home with a
diverse array of pests: ants in the cupboard, wasps in your sunroom, termites in the
cabinets, or maybe bugs having their own little party in your garden. Your first instinct,
of course, is to run to the store and get the most effective pesticide out there. But little do
you know that the dangers of pesticides are much bigger than the ones you’re trying to
solve. Here is a diagram that shows the process of making an affordable insecticide in
your home:
