Answer
During this time of Duterte’s Administration there are many educational reforms being
proposed and later approved by the President himself. One of the biggest trend for the past 4
years is the 12 year basic education cycle. A total of 13 years in basic education from
kindergarten up to grade 12. Learner who will be moving up in grade 10 will choose different
track and strands in the senior high school like GAS, HUMS, STEM, ARTS AND DESIGNS, and TVL.
For the TVL track students can choose ICT, HE, AGRI-FISHERY and INDUSTRIAL ARTS. This tracks
helps learner nurture their skills and as soon as they will graduate senior high school they will be
receiving National Certificate or NC. This certificate is valid for 5 years and they can use it in
making their own business and even in working abroad.
Another educational reforms and recently approved by the President is the
improvement of the curriculum of the students who want to pursue education, create more
plantilla positions for teachers, craft a communication plan on quality education, and harness
the use of technology in teaching. This is of course for the good of every learners, teachers and
administrators.
2. Interventions made by our school administration to curb dropout rate.
Answer
Adopt a student program ( sardo)
Sending letters to the parents inviting them to come to school to talk issues about
their children
Home visitation at least every quarter.
In our school e have PROJECT ARAMMS wherein students who are at risk of
dropping out were addressed by an adviser or subject teacher giving their own
interventions, example giving awards to the saved sardo’s.
3. How is the present reading program affect the numeracy and literacy development of your
school
Answer
Every school has its own initiative on how to improve the level of reading skills and
numeracy skills of every learner. Learner having difficulty in reading and understanding of what
he/she reads are being thought during vacant time and this is so called reading class. A master
teacher assigned is known for her expertise in the English language. 1 hour of reading
sometimes oral reading or silent reading then after that the teacher will ask some questions
with regards on what he/she reads. The ultimate goal of reading class obviously is to improve
the reading capability of the learner and of course reading with comprehension.
The same with the mathematics department they have their own program on numeracy
skills development of every learner. Student are being thought how to appreciate numbers
because mostly student are having difficulty in solving mathematics problem and I am one of
those when I was in elementary and high school. All those programs are beneficial to every
learner especially in improving their numeracy and literacy skills.
Answer
Several studies have already found out that there is a positive effect in the learning of
the pupils when they are taught using their mother tongue. This is because with mother tongue,
the learner’s cognitive mind will be fully developed. With fully developed mind, learning through
other language would then just be easy. Although we cannot avoid other people to say
something negative with that program. That according to them it is better to use English
language from the time they enter school for them to develop their English language speaking
ability. Yes no doubt that children at home will able to speak English even if no one teaches
them that is because of the televisions. There are TV programs uses English language and that
children will follow characters on that program including speaking the lanagauge. Yes it might
help for the children improve their English speaking ability but it still needs to be properly
trained in the school and by the guardians.
For my assessment with the mother tongue in grades 1 to 3. It is more effective because
mostly learners are being participative during class discussion and they are able to understand
every topic being thought by the teacher. This is a clear manifestation that they participate, they
understand the language and they became more productive every day.
Answer
Politics really affects educational system of the country. Like the recent news the
government wants to review the education curriculum in the Philippines especially the k-12
program. There are people who says that k-12 is burden to the parents and Family but if you will
look at the long term goal of the program it’s really for the learners.
Another as you can see now a days there have been strikes in public transportation,
closure of schools and high school and colleges along the course of protest. So classes are being
affected by this strikes.
In addition there are politicians perhaps don’t value quality education, lack of
classrooms, teachers, supplies etc. Will I believe that there is quality education once there is a
conducive learning environment?
6. Describe external and internal stakeholders in your school and their contributions to the
organization.
Answer
At school we have this stakeholders who are always available once we need their helps.
Parents or Guardians they always support every activities that we have like “Pintakasi”, HRPTA
Meeting, General Assembly, Card day or even Portfolio day. They are always there to support
their children because that is part of their duties and functions as guardians.
We also have the participation of our LGU. We have school activities wherein we tap
Local Government Unit. Like every quarter we have this tree planting activity the LGU will be the
one to select barangay and at the same time they also provide the seeds one/per student.
