Assignment 3 PDF

This document contains 6 questions related to designing digital filters using bilinear transformation and impulse invariance methods. The questions ask the student to: 1) Design a single pole low-pass filter with a 3dB bandwidth of 0.2π using bilinear transformation. 2) Obtain the system function of a digital filter from a given analog filter function using bilinear transformation where the digital filter is resonant at ωr = π/2. 3) Design a second order Butterworth bandpass filter between 300Hz to 500Hz using bilinear transformation.

𝑠 + 𝛺𝑐

Q5. Design a digital HPF butterworth filter with a cut off frequency 30 Hz and sampling frequency of 150 Hz
using bilinear transformation.

Q6. Determine the filter order and cut-off frequency of a digital filter with following specifications:
0.89 ≤ |𝐻(𝑒 𝑗𝜔 )| ≤ 1 0 ≤ 𝜔 ≤ 0.4 𝜋

|𝐻(𝑒 𝑗𝜔 )| ≤ 0.18 0.6𝜋 ≤ 𝜔 ≤ 𝜋
