Waste Handling Guide

The document provides guidelines for designing waste handling facilities in new residential and commercial buildings to ensure adequate space and access for waste storage and collection. It outlines basic requirements such as sufficient size, integration with building design, appropriate access and screening. Developers must check their designs meet requirements like collection service type, reasonable distance from street, and public health standards. Minimum space standards are provided for common building types like detached houses, villas and low-rise developments. Temporary holding bays within 2 meters of street access are required in some cases.
