Peer Led Information Sheet

The Gateway Project is a peer-led social support group where members are encouraged to take an active role in shaping the project. A peer is someone who has similar life experiences, and in Gateway, members are peers to each other because they have common mental health challenges. Being peer-led means members can get involved in leading the project in different ways, such as helping to set up each day, introducing new members, volunteering for activities, and providing peer support to others. The emphasis is on empowering members and encouraging one another through optional involvement and participation.
