Indicators for Factors 1 to 4 of the DepEd Evaluation Rating Sheet


for Video and Audio Recordings

Important: These indicators will serve as the evaluator’s guide in assigning points for specific
criterion items under each Factor of the rating sheet. For ratings of 3 and below, indicate
specific pages with findings applicable to the criterion item and briefly explain inadequacies
noted in the space provided in the rating sheet.

Factor 1: Content
1. Content is suitable to the student's level of development.
Indicators:
4 - All content and topics are suitable to the student’s level of development.
3 - There are 1 to 2 concepts / topics not suitable to the student's comprehension.
2 - There are 3 to 4 concepts / topics not suitable to the student's comprehension.
1 - There are 5 or more concepts / topics not suitable to the student's comprehension.

2. Material contributes to the achievement of specific objectives of the subject area and grade level for
which it is intended.
Indicators:
4 - Material contributes to achievement of 5 or more specific objectives of the intended
subject area(s) and grade / year level(s).
3 - Material contributes to achievement of 3 to 4 specific objectives of the intended subject
area(s) and grade / year level(s).
2 - Material contributes to achievement of 1 to 2 specific objectives of the intended subject
area(s) and grade / year level(s).
1 - Material does not address any objective of the intended subject area(s) and grade / year
level(s).

3. Material provides for the development of higher cognitive skills such as critical thinking, creativity,
learning by doing, inquiry, problem solving, and the 21st century skills.
Indicators:
4 - All topics / exercises / activities in the SLR develop higher cognitive skills and 21 st
century skills
3 - There are 1 to 5 topics / exercises / activities that do not develop higher cognitive skills
21st century skills
2 - There are 6 to 10 topics / exercises / activities that do not develop higher cognitive
skills and 21st century skills
1 - There are more than 10 topics / exercises / activities that do not develop higher
cognitive skills 21st century skills

4. Material is free of ideological, cultural, religious, racial, and gender biases and prejudices.
Indicators:
4 - There are no ideological, cultural, religious, racial, and gender biases and prejudices found
in the material.
3 - There are 1 to 2 violations based on the social content guidelines.
2 - There are 3 to 4 violations based on the social content guidelines.
1 - There are 5 or more violations based on the social content guidelines.

5. Material enhances the development of desirable values and traits.

7. Adequate warning / cautionary notes are provided in topics & activities where safety & health are
of concern.
Indicators:
4 - Inclusion of adequate warning / cautionary notes (where needed) is evident in the material.
3 - There are 1 to 2 worrisome topics & activities without adequate warning / cautionary
notes.
2 - There are 3 to 4 worrisome topics & activities without adequate warning / cautionary
notes.
1 - There are 5 or more worrisome topics and activities without adequate warning / cautionary
notes.

Factor 2: Format/Technical Design


1. Volume and quality of sound is appropriate.
Indicators:
4 – Volume and quality of sound is appropriate in the entire duration of the video/audio
recording.
3 – Volume and quality of sound is NOT appropriate in 1 to 3 portions of the video/audio
recording.
2 – Volume and quality of sound is NOT appropriate in 4 to 6 portions of the video/audio
recording.
1 – Volume and quality of sound is NOT appropriate in more than 6 portions of the
video/audio recording.

2. Pacing is effective and appropriate to instructional purposes.


Indicators:
4 – Pacing is effective and appropriate in the entire duration of the video/audio recording.
3 – Pacing is NOT effective and appropriate in 1 to 3 portions of the video/audio recording.
2 – Pacing is NOT effective and appropriate in 4 to 6 portions of the video/audio recording.
1 – Pacing is NOT effective and appropriate in more than 6 portions of the video/audio
recording.

3. Audio-visual effects (music, sounds, graphics, etc) are appropriate and effective for instructional
purposes.

Factor 3: Presentation and Organization

Indicators:
4 – The entire video/audio recording is engaging, interesting, and understandable.
3 – 1 to 2 portions are not engaging, interesting, and understandable.
2 – 3 to 4 portions are not engaging, interesting, and understandable.
1 – 5 or more portions are not engaging, interesting, and understandable.

2. There is logical and smooth flow of ideas.


Indicators:
4 – The entire video/audio recording is logically presented and flow smoothly.
3 – There are 1 to 2 to potions that are illogically presented and do not flow smoothly.
2 - There are 3 to 4 potions that are illogically presented and do not flow smoothly.
1- There are 5 or more potions that are illogically presented and do not flow smoothly.

3. Vocabulary level is adapted to target reader's experience and understanding.


Indicators:
4 - Vocabulary used is suitable to the target reader.
3 - There are 1 to 5 words not suitable to the target reader.
2 - There are 6 to 10 words not suitable to the target reader.
1 - There are more than 10 words not suitable to the target reader.

4. Length of video/audio recording is appropriate to the attention span of the target learner.
Indicators:
4 - Length of video/audio recording is appropriate to the attention span of the target learner.
1 - Length of video/audio recording is NOT appropriate to the attention span of the target
learner.

Factor 4: Accuracy and Up-to-Dateness of Information

1. Conceptual errors
Indicators:
4– No conceptual error found
3– 1 to 2 conceptual errors found
2– 3 to 4 conceptual errors found
1 – 5 or more conceptual errors found

2. Factual errors
