Configure Elastix with our VoIP

telephone service
This manual explains how to configure our IP telephone service with your
Elastix VoIP server.

The settings listed in this guide is a very basic configuration, you must note that
Elastix allows more options and more advanced features.

The guide explains a brief introduction to setting up Elastix with Netelip


VoIP service provider, you are responsible of adding the needed security and any
other services.

Step 1
Sign in http://www.netelip.com.

By registering you will receive an email with configuration data details of your SIP
account (username, password, and domain of our voice server)

Step 2
Install the Elastix VoIP server, http://www.elastix.org/en/downloads.html
Once installed we start the setting.

Step 3
Create one or more extensions, for example extensions 6000 and 6001,accessing
PBX -> Extensions.

Select “Generic SIP Device” and click “Submit”.


Fill out creating extensions form with minimum the following fields:

User Extension : 6000


Display Name : 6000
Secret : password for our extension

You can also enable more additional services to our extension, as voicemail, etc ...
Also add the extension 6001.

Step 4
Create the trunk “Netelip” to use it for outgoing calls. You can get a phone
number with Netelip to also start receiving incoming calls on your Elastix server,

We access to “Trunks”->”Add SIP Trunk” and fillout with the following fields:

Trunk Description: Netelip

In secction “Outgoing Settings”

Trunk Name: Netelip

PEER Details:
Type=friend
Username= SIP user
Context=from-pstn
Host =sip.netelip.com
Canreinvite =no
Secret=SIP password
Nat=yes ;; If our Server is behind the router.
Fromdomain=sip.netelip.com
Disallow=all
Allow=alaw
Insecure=very
Fromuser=SIP user

In “Registration” section

Register String: sip_useer:[email protected] / sip_user

Once you have completed this, click “Submit changes” and then “Apply
Configuration Changes Here “.

Step 5
We will create outgoing calls route through netelip.
Access to “Outbound Routes” and will fill out with following data:

Route name: outgoing_netelip

Dial pattems:
00. ;; pattern for international calls
[689] XXXXXXXX;, pattern for outgoing calls

Trunk Sequence: SIP / Netelip


SIP / Netelip trunk is the one created in step 4.

We press “Submit changes” and then “Apply Configuration Changes Here “.

Step 6
We will create now incoming calls route.

Access to “Inbound Routes” and will fill out with the following data:

Description: SIP Netelip User


DID Number: SIP Netelip User

In section “Set Destination”, select an option from those shown.


For example we can redirect incoming calls to extension 6001:
We select “Extensions” and extension 6001, press “Submit” and “Apply”.

Your Elastix VoIP server is now configured with Netelip.
