i. Differentiate between descriptive and inferential statistics.

Convert these class limits into class boundaries and also find relative frequency.

v. Write down the properties of A.M.

vi. The mean of n values is 10 if a new value 20 is included the mean becomes 8, find

vii. Can all quartiles be expressed as percentiles? Explain.

viii. Given x1 = 4 and x2 =16 show that G.M =√ A . M ∗H . M

ix. In moderately asymmetrical distribution the value of median is 42 and value of mode
is 40, find the mean.

x. Given l=60, h=10, f=20, n=80 and c=30, find median.

xi. Name the important types of averages.

xii. The mean height of 25 students in sec A of a class is 60” and the mean height of 35
students in sec B is 58” find overall mean height of 60 students.

xiii. Differentiate between absolute and relative measure of dispersion.


xiv. Define symmetry and skewness.

xv. The first three moment of a distribution about x=20 are 1, 4, 10 find the value of b1.

xvi. The mean of 200 items is 48 and their S.D.is 3. Find the sum of squares of all items.

xvii. Define consumer’s price index number.

xviii. ∑ P=660 , ∑ P=924 , ∑ P=1056 compute simple aggregative price index


numbers.

xix. ∑ p q=1000, ∑ p q=1360, ∑ p q=1500, ∑ p q=2040, find base year weighted


index number and current year weighted index number.
