Physics

1. The document discusses key concepts in physics including mass, temperature, pressure-volume relationships, and kinetic molecular theory. 2. It provides the formula to convert between Celsius and Kelvin scales, noting that 0 Kelvin is the lowest possible temperature as no heat energy remains. 3. As temperature outside a metal cylinder increases, the particles inside gain kinetic energy from the increased heat and collide more rapidly with the walls, raising the pressure.

Q14 (a)(i) 1. Mass
2. Temperature.
(ii) P1V1 = P2V2
120 x 1.2 = 250 x V2
= 144/250 = 0.576 m3
(b)(i) Kelvin = Celciuso + 273.15
Kelvin = -273 + 273.15
Kelvin = 0.15K
(ii) This temperature is special because it is the
Lowest temperature possible. Due to this
no heat energy remains in a substance.

(c) When the temperature outside the metal

cylinder increases the particles inside the
cylinder gains heat energy which then
converts into kinetic energy as the particles
move more rapidly. They also collide with
the walls of the cylinder causing an increase
in the pressure.
