Maximus II Windows 10 (32-bit) Firmware Instructions

Preparation

You will need the following:

- A USB Flash Drive (2.0 or higher, and at least 16GB)


- File “Win10 Install x86” (which can be found HERE)
- Your device’s Firmware (which can be found HERE)
- A PC that is Windows 7 or higher
- A .RAR file-extracting program (7-zip, etc.)
- UltraISO (which can be found HERE)

1.) Download and extract the file: “WIN10 INSTALL x86”.


2.) Download and install UltraISO (detailed installation instructions can be found HERE). Once
installed, open UltraISO.
3.) Insert your USB Flash Drive into your PC.
4.) In the UltraISO menu, select “File” > “Open”.
5.) You will then be asked to select a file (like the image below). Look for your Win10 Installation
Tool folder you extracted in step 1 and select “WINPE_X86_AUTO.”

6.) In the UltraISO menu, select “Bootable” > “Write Disk Image”. If prompted: “Do you want to
allow this app to make changes to your device?” select “Yes”.
7.) For Disk Drive, make sure the USB you are using is selected. Select the “Hidden” option for “Hide
Boot Partition” (highlighted in RED), then click “Write” (highlighted in GREEN)

8.) After selecting “Write”, you may be asked if you want to continue. Select “Yes”.
9.) The program will make the USB bootable for your device and a progress bar will appear. When
the message “Burn successful!” appears in the Message screen and “Done: 100%”, the process is
complete.

10.) Two folders may open after you have finished making your USB Bootable (“WINPE” and
“USB_DISK”). “WINPE” has files that will make your USB bootable. “USB_DISK” will need to be
reformatted in order to store your firmware.
11.) In order to get the firmware onto your USB, you will need to reformat the drive to NTFS. Right
click the “USB_DISK” and select “Format”.

12.) When you format your device, make sure the following options are selected (highlighted in RED).
Make sure you rename your “Volume label” to “winpe”, then select “Start” to begin
reformatting.
13.) A warning prompt may appear, click “Ok” to continue formatting. Once the drive is formatted,
the following prompt should appear:

14.) You should now be able to transfer the firmware onto your flash drive.
15.) Check the bottom of your laptop for the serial number. Download the firmware file matching
the first 4 digits of your serial number. You can find the firmware HERE.
16.) Once you have downloaded the correct firmware, extract the .RAR file, it should give you the
files listed below. (NOTE: A folder named “TEST_TOOL” may or may not be included. It is not
needed to complete the installation)

17.) Select all folders, and copy them onto the USB. This will take several moments.
18.) USB is now ready for use.
Installation

1.) Make sure your device is powered off. Connect the flash drive, keyboard and device using a hub.

If you’re installing on an iVIew laptop, make sure that the keyboard switch is set to (Unlock)
Position.

2.) Power on the device while rapidly pressing ESC on the keyboard.
3.) A Boot menu will pop up. Press the Right Arrow Key to highlight BOOT MANAGER and press
Enter.
4.) When the boot menu pops up, press the down arrow key to select your USB Flash drive and
press Enter.

5.) Installation will begin. The procedure might take more than 20 minutes.

6.) Device will reboot automatically. If device does not reboot, type EXIT at the command prompt
and press Enter.
7.) “System Preparation Tool” will pop up, Click “OK”.

8.) Device is ready for use.
