GRAPHICS SOFTWARE

INTRODUCTION

In computer graphics software or image editing software is defined as a program or


set of program that allows a user to manipulate digital images on a computer system.
Graphics program available today have the ability to import and export one or more
graphics file format. Computer graphics is classified into two categories – vector
graphics, raster graphics.

Vector graphics animation can be seen as a series mathematical transformation


(translation, rotation, scaling…etc.) that are applied in a sequence to one or more
shape in an images. Raster graphics animation also work in a similar style as in film
based animation, where a series of still images production the illusion of continuous
movement(videos). There are two general classifications for graphics software:

I. General Graphics Programming Packages


II. Special- purpose applications packages.

General Graphics Programming Packages

A General Graphics Programming Package provides an extensive set of graphics


functions that can be used in a high-level programming language, such as C or
FORTRAN. Basic functions in a general package include those for generating picture
components (straight lines, polygons, circles, and other figures), setting color and
intensity values, selecting views, and applying transformations. For example, a
camera application on your phone will only allow you to take and share pictures.
Examples include word processors, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing
packages, graphics packages etc.

Special-Purpose Applications Packages

A Special-Purpose Applications Package or Application graphics packages are


designed for nonprogrammers, so that users can generate displays without worrying
about how graphics operations work. Special purpose application software is a type of
software created to execute one specific task. The interface to the graphics routines in

such packages allows users to communicate with the programs in their own terms.
Examples of such applications packages are the artist's painting programs and various
business, medical, and CAD systems. Examples of special purpose application
software are web browsers, calculators, media players, calendar programs etc.

Photoshop Creative Suite 4

The graphics software has the best image capabilities. It is created for photographers
(for modifying digital images), web designers (for uploading modified images on the
web) and graphics designers (for creating and editing images, illustrations, graphics,
poster…etc.). Photoshop graphics software provide new feature, such as blending,
that enable advance composting and automatic layer alignment. It can allow a graphic
user to import and export a wide range of file format, including JPEG, PSD, BMP,
PNG, Cineon, GIF and TIFF. The last of the Creative Suite versions, Adobe Creative
Suite 6 (CS6), was launched at a release event on April 23, 2012, and released on
May 7, 2012. CS6 was the last of the Adobe design tools to be physically shipped as
boxed software as future releases and updates would be delivered via download only.

CoffeeCup GIF Animator

The CoffeeCup gif animator software that allow a graphics user to created animated
graphics that can easily use in web pages. It allows first to browse images in a
specified folder by previewing a thumbnail (icon images). The CoffeeCup Animator
graphics software allow a user to convert BMP and JPEG graphics into GIF
(animated) file automatically and can also import and export AVI(video) files. There's
even a built-in image editor that features drawing and selection tools to put final
touches on your frames. Draw, brush, fill, crop, and swap out colors until you've got
the frames you need to provide the illusion of movement. A color correction panel
makes advanced editing tasks unbelievably simple.

There's even a built-in image editor that features drawing and selection tools to put
final touches on your frames. Draw, brush, fill, crop, and swap out colors until you've
got the frames you need to provide the illusion of movement. A color correction panel
makes advanced editing tasks unbelievably simple.

PhotoImpact

PhotoImpact is a raster and vector graphics editing program. The photo graphics
software allows everything the graphics used needs for digital photography, web
graphics and creative design Imapact images editor produces professional result easily
and on an affordable cost. Alongside its image editing capabilities, the program also
features HTML tools, such as a rollover assistant, an image map assistant, an HTML
assistant, a background designer and a button library. PhotoImpact has vast support
for graphic file formats but also uses its own UFO and UFP file format which support
all the aforementioned features. PhotoImpact is a popular photo editing solution
designed for both professionals and beginners. The program is marketed under the
wide array of Corel Corporation digital photo editing products, and member of the

flagship program Paint Shop Pro. This application is packed with easy-to-use.

CONCLUSION

Some of the common things people use graphics software for include editing and
sharing digital photos, creating logos, drawing and modifying clip art, creating digital
fine art, creating web graphics, designing advertisements and product packaging,
touching up scanned photos, and drawing maps or other diagrams. There are the
unconventional uses as well, such as editing video in Photoshop or 3D drawing in
illustrator.
