Artifact #8: Weebly Website

Overview

I chose this artifact for my project portfolio because it shows my ability to incorporate

technology into the elementary classroom in a meaningful and engaging way. Technology is

becoming such a huge part of the education system and as times are changing it is important to

keep up with the changes in technological devices. This artifact shows evidence that I am

prepared for a career in education, because through my use of technology skills I have created a

personal Weebly Website. This artifact showcases my ability to create an interactive website for

the students and parents, as well as integrate technology in the classroom in a way that helps the

students learn, as well as makes learning fun at the same time. As a future educator it is

important to include technology with each lesson plan and this artifact shows I have acquired the

skills and am prepared for this aspect of teaching in an elementary classroom. I have also created

a resource for parents and students that displays the work I have completed within my MSED

program, as well as my personal experiences and interests as a way of engaging the students and

keeping an open line of communication with the parents. With the changing technological

society, we live in today, this is an important skill to have, as creating a classroom website may

be very useful for remote learning and switching to an online based program. I will now discuss

which standards this artifact aligns with in accordance with both NYS and Ontario curriculum

expectations.

The Ontario Teacher Ethical Standards that align with this artifact are care and respect.

As a teacher it is important to both care for your students and their needs, but also to have respect

in the classroom. This is shown within the artifact I have provided as evidence.
