From the ten guiding principles, list down the greatest challenge you face in
self-management. Provide a specific illustration of this challenge. Suggest
an approach you think can help you overcome the challenge.
Example: The greatest challenge facing one young executive is self-control.
This is in the area of controlling his temper, especially when being critisied
by others. He would display explosive behaviour and will come to regret it
later.
Suggested approach to overcome the challenge:
Ask in a calm manner to the other person, why he or she is of the view and
ask for the rationale politely and sincerely, indicating that that you will
benefit to understand it and help you improve. View the criticism as a
beneficial feedback to improve oneself or to understand the thinking of
others.
