What Intune is, and why you need to download it


To access your work files and data through your mobile device, you have to according to our mobile
device policy use a Mobile Device Management application - Intune. Through the application, Epiroc
IT can assist you with the management, support and security of your mobile device and its content,
while giving you the freedom to use your corporate or private device to get your work done.
Please ensure that your device is compliant according to The Epiroc Way Mobile Device policy: Link
to SharePoint and our Smartphone policy: Link to SharePoint.

Step 1: Un-enroll from Airwatch


If your device doesn’t have Airwatch installed or is a new device to be setup for the first time, please
skip this step and proceed to Step 2.
It’s not possible to use Airwatch and Intune on the same device, please ensure that you first un-enroll
Airwatch before continuing with this guide or you will not be able to enroll using Intune.

Step 2: Quick guide on how to enroll your Android device


These enrollment steps are for Samsung Knox Android devices and "native” (non-Samsung Knox)
Android devices. If you get an error while trying to enroll your device in Intune, please contact Service
Desk IT Support [email protected].
Before or after enrolling, you may be asked to choose a category that best describes how you use
your device. This information may be used to help determine what apps you have access to. Click
here to find a more detailed guide of the following steps, including images.
1. Install the free Microsoft Intune Company Portal app on your device from Google Play
2. Open the Microsoft Intune Company Portal app.
3. On the Company Portal Welcome screen, tap Sign in, and then sign in with your work
email account:
Username: [email protected] or [email protected]
Password: your Email password is the same as your AD/Windows password
4. Enter your company email information.
5. On the Epiroc Access Setup page, tap Continue.
6. Read the Terms of Use, when ready tap Accept.
7. Depending on your device, the permission prompts and requirements will vary. Tap
Continue.
8. See the list of what your IT administrator can and can’t see on your enrolled device, and
tap Continue.
9. Depending on your device, the permission prompts and requirements will vary. Tap
Continue.
10. You may see either or both of the following messages:
a. If you see the message, Allow Company Portal to access your contacts?, tap
Allow. It is safe to tap Allow, because Microsoft never accesses your contacts!
Google controls the message text, so Microsoft cannot change it. When you allow
access, it only allows the Company Portal app to access data logs to help troubleshoot
issues with your device.
b. If you see the message, Allow Company Portal to make and manage phone calls?,
tap Allow. It is safe to tap Allow, because Microsoft never makes or manages your
phone calls! Google controls the message text, so Microsoft cannot change it. When
you allow access, it only allows the Company Portal app to see your phone number
and an ID called an IMEI.
If you tap Decline, the messages will appear again the next time you sign in to the
Company Portal app.
11. Review some of the things that you might see depending on your device. When you finish
reading, tap Enroll or Next.
12. On the Activate device administrator screen, tap Activate.

13. Follow the prompts to enter a PIN or password. If you already set up a PIN or password on
this device, you won't see this screen or be required to enter a new PIN or password.
14. Follow the instructions below that match the type of device you’re using (native Android or
Samsung Knox). If you don’t have a Samsung Knox device, follow the instructions for
native Android. To determine if you have a Samsung Knox device, go to Settings > About
phone. If you don't see the word "Knox" listed there, you have a native Android device.
a. Native (non-Samsung Knox) device: On the Name the certificate screen, tap Ok to
accept the default certificate.
b. Samsung Knox device: check the box I have read and agree to all the terms and
conditions above, tap Confirm to proceed.
15. You will now see the message Registering your device on your screen as Intune enrolls
your device.
16. Select the type of Device you are enrolling. Tap Done.
17. Tap Done.
Your device is now enrolled in Intune, and you are taken back to the Company Portal app.
Note that it might take up to 60 minutes for the email, contacts and calendar to appear in the
Outlook App, you might also get a message that your account has been blocked by AirWatch –
Please disregard this message.

How to access your email and other business data


In Microsoft Intune Company Portal App, you can see applications provided by Epiroc.
To be able to access your email, contacts and calendar you have to use the Outlook App – this
means that it’s not possible to use the native mail-, contacts- and calendar applications with Intune.
Follow these steps to install it:
1. Click View to view all the applications available. Install the Outlook App. (You can install
the Outlook app provided in the Company Portal or the Google Play Store).
2. Enter you Epiroc email account using same credentials as you did in Company Portal, tap
Continue. You also will have the option to add additional email accounts.
3. Read about Outlook App features or skip this by tap Skip.

Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook and other Apps are secured - To keep your data safe.
The copying of business related data to other unsecure applications or storage is prohibited by policy.
A pop-up message will appear if you for example try to open an attachment using a non-approved
application.

How do I find my contacts in the Outlook app?


1. Click the magnifier glass in the Outlook app.
2. To search for a colleague in the Global Address list, enter the name in the Search field.
3. To find your personal Outlook contacts, click Contacts.

Calendar view options in the Outlook App


1. Tap the icon in upper right corner in the calendar view
2. From menu choose which view you want to use:
a. Agenda view will show you the agenda of the day, here you can also see the whole
month by swiping down.
b. Day show the whole day
c. 3-day shows the 3 upcoming days (Note that there is no weekly view)

How to enroll your Android device in Intune
1. Install the free Microsoft Intune Company Portal app on your device from the Google Play.
2. Open the Microsoft Intune Company Portal app.
3. On the Company Portal Welcome screen, tap Sign in, and then sign in with your work
account.
