DBM Trail Stretch

The document reports on three trials conducted to test different rolling patterns for compacting dense bituminous macadam on a roadway section. Trial I found that one high vibration pass followed by one plane pass achieved 98.37% compaction and was the best pattern. Trial II determined two passes of high vibration followed by one plane pass achieved 97.37% compaction. Trial III concluded that four passes of low vibration achieved 97.73% compaction but two passes of pneumatic tired roller followed by one plane pass achieved the highest compaction of 99.13%. The best overall pattern from Trial I is recommended.
