Front Door
The FD is showing a significant issue with cold air ingress along the foot of the door. The ingress
is prevalent to between the door and threshold. This is likely in relation to an inadequate
connection and defect to the seal along the threshold. The issue is also worsened to the bottom
corners - when inspected this can be seen to be in relation to a gap around the cill/threshold to the
skirting which is unfinished.
Kitchen Patio Doors
The kitchen patio doors are showing a number of issues inhibiting their air tightness. Firstly, the
two side unopenable windows are allowing cold air ingress. The RH window bottom rhs and LH
window bottom lhs. This is likely in relation to them being pushed out their position and gap being
present around the perimeter to the frame. - Secondly, the lower half of the centre channel below
the handle is allowing cold air ingress due to the rh door not being flush to the centre channel. -
Thirdly (3), the rubber to the threshold is short to the corners and this is allowing cold air ingress
and inhibiting the airtightness of this entire length. Finally (4), the area above the centre channel is
showing cold air ingress due to the doors being outset from the frame which is allowing air to
penetrate.
Trickle Vents
The trickle vents to the kitchen, study and bed 1 window (lhs) are showing notable cold air ingress
when closed. This is in relation to them being installed incorrectly and a gap being present around
the perimeter even when closed.
Hallway Insulation
The wall within the hallway to the bottom of the stairs was showing a significant void to the cavity
wall insulation. This is the area directly adjacent to the external meter boxes. The blown insulation
will have been caught/blocked to the area shown and should be refilled to the area shown in blue.
Bathroom Ceiling
The ceiling within the bathroom is showing notable thermal bridging. This will make the room
considerably colder during winter months. The issue is likely in relation to the loft insulation being
positioned incorrectly and cold air then being able to sit below causing a bridge to occur.
Radiators
The radiators to the hallway, living room, bed 1, bed 2 and bathroom are not heating to their
maximum potential and may require an adjustment such as bleeding.
