Competency Assessment and Certification of Grade 12-Tvl-Eim

COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION of Grade 12- TVL-EIM
Track: TVL
Strand: INDUSTRIAL ARTS
C.Y.2019-2020

INTRODUCTION

The assessment process seeks to determine whether the graduate can perform
to the standards expected in the workplace based on the defined competency
standards. Certification is provided to those who meets the competency standards. This
ensures the productivity, quality and global competitiveness of the TVL graduates.

ACCOMPLISHMENT

Bais City National High School TVL-EIM were able to submit 15 TVL-EIM
graduating students for competency assessment namely;

The assessment was conducted on March 12-13, 2020 and luckily, 14 out of 15 were
found competent and awarded with full qualification Electrical Installation and
Maintenance NC II. Prior to the date of Assessment, the EIM teacher had prepared the
students for the assessment, some of the activities includes:

1. Availing of Insurance
2. Intensive practice of skills
3. Review of theories
4. Written exam drills

PROBLEMS MET

There were problems met during this activity, namely:

1. Lack of consumable supplies like wires and pipes for intensive practice prior to
assessment
2. Only students who can afford the assessment fee of 1,415.00 per candidate can
avail the competency assessment.

RECOMMENDATION

The EIM teacher would like to recommend the following to make the
COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT program for its better implementation:

1. Procure more consumable supplies for practice


2. Allocate budget for assessment fee subsidy.
